The home was very nice, clean and spacious. If you are looking for a very quiet wooded area, this is the perfect place for you. My boys got back to basics playing cards and boards games. My husband did struggle with no cell service and weak/ spotty wifi when he needed to check in at work. If you're looking to unplug and sit outside and have your morning coffee with the deer, hummingbirds and cows - this is the right place for you!

Stayed with my wife and 4 daughters. Everybody loved the house and hot tub. Board game shelf is a nice touch and was used almost every night.

My sister and I enjoyed the property very much. The home was clean and stunning, quality decor and furnishings, the beds were especially comfortable. Aaron responded quickly to any questions we had. A small, minor issue we had was that we could not get the door wall open that leads to the hot tub, no problem though, we walked around the corner of the house to get to it. Loved everything about this property!!

We had a wonderful stay in Silver City Aaron would’ve been easily reached had we needed anything. However, we didn’t need to bother him during our stay. Everything was beautifully laid out with a binder of information & plenty of supplies. All you really need to bring are your personal items & food! The only thing that differed is there are no bunk beds as pictured. We saw deer & wild turkeys one morning & at night could hear some wildlife, as well. The house is off the beaten path a bit but we had no troubles getting to it, the view both during the day & night were amazing!!!

Very clean property, Perfect for our group (4 adults, 2 pre-teens). Rustic decor, beautiful deck to enjoy the peaceful mornings in the woods. 10 minute drive to the highway, some gravel roads, but no issues. Located 45 minutes or so from all the Black Hills attractions. Eat at Sugar Shack for burgers - nothing fancy however great burgers! Thanks Aaron for a great stay!

Shady Pines is a great place to get away and enjoy the beautiful Black Hills. The cabin is centrally located to many of the attractions in the Hills but also fairly secluded. The condition of the cabin did not disappoint as it was nicely furnished and very clean. Thank you for many great memories!

Very nice property. Our family enjoyed the roominess and it was very clean! We especially enjoyed Pactola Lake just down the road.

This was a great cabin for our family. The only thing I would suggest is to have the WIFI password in the binder with information about the cabin. When you get there, you will likely have no service to look up the WIFI password on your email, so it would be nice to have that at the cabin. Otherwise, I have no complaints! The location up a very steep hill. So beware of that- it is very scenic though, on the way to the cabin one evening we got to see a huge female elk! The place is exactly as pictured/advertised. Aaron was very responsive and helpful. We loved the campfire ring outside, the hot tub, the beautiful deck, and the family room in the basement. It was also so nice to have a washer and dryer with plenty of laundry detergent so we didn't have to go home and do a bunch of laundry! The cabin is well equipped with everything you could need, and we will very likely be back. Thank you Aaron!

I’ve stayed at quite a few cabins in the Hills area, and this is one of the nicer properties we’ve stayed at. Owner was good to work with and I would recommend this cabin.

We had a great time! We were looking for a relaxing getaway and it was perfect. The kids loved the location in the woods and the hot tub! The owner responded right away to a few questions we had. Will definitely stay here again!

The drive over the mountains was beautiful. The home is decorated with rustic charm. Comfortable beds, large bathrooms. The 3 grandkids used all the living areas, which the adults appreciated. We felt covid safe with your cleaners. Aaron responded to all my questions, including extra blankets for 2 cribs and sleds for all. My 3 and both 2 year old grankids were sad to leave. We left you a couple snowmen. Would recommend this home for family vacations.

This house is amazing! It has everything you could possibly need. I loved the beautiful drive through the forest to get to the house. We saw deer every day. It was a great location. Close to all of the attractions! We enjoyed viewing the stars at night from the large hot tub. The beds were extremely comfortable. I will recommend this home to my friends and we hope to stay there again soon!

Shady Pines is a beautiful home with attention to detail. The home was immaculate with a fully stocked kitchen, comfortable bedrooms, big bathrooms, several living areas, beautiful deck and relaxing hot tub. Great location for hiking and site seeing. We just loved our stay. Aaron was very responsive to any questions. We highly recommend this property.

Our stay at the cabin was wonderful! The cabin was very clean and was fully stocked with all the essentials for a week stay! The property is situated in a very quiet and beautiful area. We enjoyed sitting on the deck for breakfast and dinner, sitting by the fire pit and the hot tub. The only negative is the cabin is on a 2 mile gravel road which would be difficult to navigate at night.

This is a beautiful, clean, and unique home that looked exactly in person as it did in the photos online! It has three levels, which include three actual bedrooms, plus a loft - which features one twin bed and two couches (do not pull out). The bedrooms were great, but we wished there was more than one actual bed in the loft. There are two full bathrooms, which worked out fine for a group of seven. The lower level has a large wraparound couch which is great for watching TV. However, note there is no DVD player for this TV. That was a slight inconvenience as we wanted to watch a movie in the common area late at night. There is a DVD player in the loft (no TV service), but that was used as a sleeping area. The kitchen was wonderful, and included just about everything we needed. The large deck and hot tub are also great perks of this home! A few things we were surprised about: The remoteness of the location. I didn't realize how far into the woods this home was, and we were honestly a bit startled when we turned onto the dirt road which led to the home (a good mile or so - feels like longer!). There are a few other homes nearby, but it is definitley very private. However, after the first night, everything was fine, and we appreciated the beauty and serenity of the area. :) The WiFi worked quite well, but it was a bit unsettling that there was no landline or regular cell service available. You will want to enable WiFi calling with your cell carrier ahead of time if you want to be able to make or receive calls while at the cabin. I also didn't see a receptacle for recycling at the cabin. Overall, this is a GREAT property and we had an excellent time! Especially for my first time using an online service to rent vacation accomodations. I didn't proactively contact the owner, so I can't comment on responsiveness. He did send information but not until the day before or day of our reservation - would have liked to receive it sooner if possible. I would definitely recommend this property - you will NOT be disappointed!! We will likely rent it again if we do another trip to South Dakota.

The house was amazing and secluded. We had 8 people and everyone was comfortable. You can ride trails right from the driveway. We will be staying here again next year.

This place was perfect. We had two adults, one 20 year old, a 17 year old, a 13 year old, and a 9 year old. Had everything and more for all of us. The location was perfect. It is basically right in the middle of everything we wanted to do. I would stay here again, and fully recommend to anybody.

We had a very enjoyable time at Shady Pines. Owners were terrific with communication and the house is beautiful.
