The Chessie Trail is a riverside walk from Lexington to nearby Buena Vista which is stroller/bike and dog friendly. Rockbridge Vineyard is in nearby Raphine and has live music most weekends throughout the summer. The Virginia Horse Center is two miles from Lazy Acres Lodge, making this house the most convenient place to stay when showing horses there. Canoeing/kayaking and tubing are accessible nearby. Fishing along the Maury River as well as golf at two different golf courses nearby. The Lime Kiln Theater hosts plays and music concerts all summer long. Fine Wines from Rockbridge vineyard can be sampled just a few miles to the north. The Devils Backbone Brewery is close by and both the vineyard and the brewery have live music regularly.
