Pear Tree Inn

Is it a pub, an Indian restaurant or a hotel? Great staff and a nice location.

No breakfast. However there plenty of eateries nearby

It was clean, tidy, easily accessible

Excellent food served. Room was clean, comfortable and great value for money.

I have no criticisms of anything.

The staff were very friendly and helpful. Parking was easy, well lit and very safe. The bathroom was nice. The hallway up to the rooms looks modern and nicely painted. The first few rooms I think are the ones they put in the pictures on the website but the room I had was old and very dated! The food is Indian and quite nice but I wish they did smaller portions for just one person eating. Dinner cost me over £60 including wine and a lot of it I had to leave as portions are designed for two sharing.

The rooms are very basic, I expected that due to the price, probably more designed for travelling builders or similar. I "specifically" asked for a quiet room as I am not a great sleeper. They gave me a room directly above the kitchens so not only was the smell of Indian food present but the massive electrical fans where going on and off all night til around 1am!!! The mattress on the bed was ok but the pillows could do with being updated. Also the TV has been locked to stop guests turning up the volume, I have a hearing problem in my right ear and it was very frustrating not to be able to watch/listen to the TV in the evening.
