Old building; no staff service to assist with luggage, etc. Room was a vey long way away from registration, going up and down stairs, ramps, footbridge, all while carrying luggage. Room was just ok. No room service. Very unclear where to go for breakfast which was not included. Extra $35 “resort fee” which was basically a completely unnecessary expense. Will never stay here again.

The grounds are beautiful. Enjoyed the walk on the boardwalk to the beach. Nice beach to walk on. There is a beach bar which was great to have a drink and enjoy the view. Loved the villa we stayed in. Only wished the fire place was a working fireplace. We had complimentary snacks in drinks in our villa which was a nice surprise.

Mildew and mold smell in rooms in the mansions are not great for people with allergies to mold, suffered all wkd. Air conditioner goes on and off in rooms and is very loud, like a plane was taking off, and we didn’t sleep all wkd. If you don’t want noise above you I also don’t recommend the first floor, lots of running around at all hours of night and early morning hours. Not worth the price we paid at all.

-Nice spot with great beach access and activities. Food was great. Some staff excellent (dinner waiter Hunt) some just ok (concierge seemed not to know much). -Main restaurant great, incredible views and food. -Rooms are well appointed but a bit tired and dark on the lower level. -Golf course restaurant had good food but service and management was horrendous. Would not let us sit outside because tables were reserved... then not one table outside was seated in the whole time we were there. Avoid this restaurant, not great value.

Way overpriced for what you get! Spent more money than anyone should for a 2 night stay. Did I mention that they also charge a daily “resort fee” For you to use their pool and beach? Are you kindling me ? Isn’t that what we overpay for in the first place is the amenities? I can not Recommend this hotel to anyone, kids were bored by day 2, food was average at best. The first day on the beach we waited OVER 2 hours for our food. The rooftop food was ehhh.. no paper towels or napkins in the hotel. I could go on but the $5k price tag for two days says enough. At that price Everything should be included. Very very disappointed don’t waste your money.

Second stay here. Nice dining area outside on the patio to have drinks or food. Also the private beach area was lovely with chairs and umbrellas set up for you by beach staff. Did not use the pool or spa. All staff were very friendly and pleasant. Expensive but worth the splurge.

Bathroom exhaust fan screen was almost occluded with dust, had to fix toilet float valve, clock radio set on January, fish and chips had a cake dough and was tasteless, as were the buttermilk pancakes. Way over priced.

We liked the integration of the original mansion with the updates and additions of the contemporary resort. The new buildings are thoughtfully done and beach access is wonderful. Our room was spacious, well appointed and very clean. I enjoyed the pool but was glad it was off season. It could get crowded quickly. Surprised there were no cleaning wipes in the equipment room. We'll return.

Hotel is ok , but it is showing its age , it is in need of some upgrades ( bathroom ) we could not get into our room because th key card would not work, we had to wait about a hour for maintenance to come and replace the battery , also had problems with TV. Not working. Bartenders and servers at the terrace were Excellent , very friendly and accommodating, not so much at the beach bar.

Liked the grounds. Otherwise, half of the staff were rude and gave us an attitude. I had a few hang up on me. The food was awful! The waitresses were nice. For $600/night it wasn’t worth it.

This report ascribes to the “least amount of effort” policy. From the servers to room cleaning to food it’s so phoned in and in need of a serious overhaul. Every food order was wrong or slow. The room wasn’t cleaned but only the beds made. I asked once for toilet paper bc we had none and they literally left the rolls in a pile in our room. Minimum possible effort. The rooms are small and in need of refreshing. The pool could use an upgrade. The people could use training. I never once felt like they cared very much that we were even there. We go because our kids enjoy the area but we likely won’t stay here again.

Everything was great except for the disappointing challenge to have someone answer the phone when we called the front desk, concierge, maintenance and guest services. We had to physically go to the front desk to submit a maintenance request. We acknowledge that there are staffing issues, so we can cut them some slack. It’s just disappointing since we love Ocean Edge. If we’re paying $500 - 1200 per night, I’d expect someone to answer the phone - even if it’s just 1 out of 5 times we call. We get better responses from 2-3 star hotels.

The complaint is the way of reserving a restaurant inside the hotel. Every time I called restaurants, l was connected to the auto messaging which asked me the number of people and time, and said “We will call you back again”. However there was no call back. I and my family were so annoyed and we could not confirm whether we could reserve a table at all. Never make a reservation for restaurant s if this hotel.

Loved the stay. The staff were super friendly. Access to beach is very convenient and the path is beautiful. The only issue we had was that there were no real vegetarian options in the dinner menu other than appetizers which is not in line with modern trends. Would love to stay here again though!
