Our room was very basic. Everything was clean and bathroom fixtures were all new and nice. Our second floor room had high ceilings which made it feel roomier and the actual room was pretty spacious. It was entirely adequate for a weekend getaway. It is very close to the beach and boardwalk. Many dining options are within walking distance.
There was a chair but basically no where for 2 people to sit but on the bed. The rooms with balconies or patios were nicer but my basic room was just under $300 per night and I didn’t price the others. There was a small fridge and tiny microwave as well as a coffee maker.
Ideally I would have liked a heat lamp in the bathroom as it was chilly so near the ocean. A sink in the kitchen area would have been nice for making coffee. Gourmet coffee would have made me happier. The coffee was so weak it was practically just warm water. The coffee in the lobby may have been better. The bed and bedding was adequate but the pillows were flat.
The proximity to the beach and walkable neighborhood made it a nice weekend. The basic room was fine for sleeping and showering but not a place to spend time. If I came back it would be to a better type room.

The desk on my check-in was friendly. The lady worked to get me in earlier than usual. She told me the bathroom had just been cleaned. However when I returned from the beach to take a shower I discovered the towels were soiled and damp yet hung up as new. I called the desk that afternoon and they told me new towels were coming. They did not. I called that evening before closing and left a message. Nothing. The following day I took the towels down to the front desk. The attendant was not rude but also not polite. He asked me to dispose of the towels myself! I was able to get fresh ones then, and even then one towel had hair and stains. I have never experienced such a thing and have used this site for over a decade. It was unfortunate.

The room was freezing, and when adjusted for desired temperature, the heater would come on approx every 15 mins or so and was incredibly loud (woke me from sleep). Other than that, the room was comfortable and clean.

This is a nice 3-star property. It is a bit dated, and needs some paint touch-ups here and there. However, the room was large, and well appointed. The bathroom was good sized, and the shower was terrific. The bed was very comfortable, and the front desk staff was great. Free parking is also provided. Keep your expectations to 3-star, and go to the beach, or down the boardwalk... both of which are 1 minute away. Fabulous!

Parking is good and near the coast beach. Some front desk services are good other are not probably during holidays weekend. The place had some upgrade but not enough. They need more major remodel on wall too thin (very noisy), door scratches/wall need repaint, carpet replace to floor more clean, cabinet in restroom old, the towels look old (color kinda off-white/gray/yellowish), toilet made some water noise at night time to time, the pillows and bed mattress are not comfortable at all. I can’t sleep due to super soft pillows and mattress super sink down. I hope they’ll remodel this place soon. Location is a plus for this place if want to be near the coast beach.

Property is very close to the water. However, check out was awkward, as lobby door was locked and sign on door to go to another hotel a few blocks away to check out. I've stayed at this property many times, but now it gives off a different vibe. I feel it's under new ownership, staff and accommodations are subpar.

This place ended up being so much better than I was expecting. The proximity to the beach, the size of the room was way bigger than I was expecting and the vaulted ceilings was an added bonus. Totally clean and we even had an ocean view outside our little balcony. The price was so reasonable as well. We Will definitely recommend to others.

Lovely location with a partial view of the ocean, nice parking, nicely remodeled and large room with a large closet including a microwave and fridge.
The outside of the building was run down, but the rooms very nice. Also, the staff was shared with a sister hotel 1 block away so I had to run down the block a few times. No problem though

Love the location of this place. Wake up and straight up walk up to the beach. Walk to get coffee on the beach. Walk to the beach last thing before going to bed. Walking distance to bars, restaurants, clubs, biking, kayaking, etc.... My go to place in San Diego. Can't beat it - and very reasonably priced.

This property needs some love! The staff is great and what do anything they can't do accommodate you. However the exterior desperately needs paint and the interior has varying degrees of mold which needs to be treated with a mill decide and then the carpets cleaned behind the treatment. How difficult time keeping my room ventilated especially since the windows open to a back alley which has a variety of concerns such as homeless construction people dropping by an illegally dumping in the dumpster which is alarming when you hear a loud crashing sound of tile scraps going into the dumpster. My mirror did not light up and let mirror needs to light up otherwise by design you will not see yourself well in it.

We arrived at 4:30 pm and our room wasn't ready yet. So we walked down and checked out the beach. Beautiful! Received a call within 15 minutes saying our room was ready. The room was updated and pretty. The bathroom door was cracked and hard to shut, but it did work. Very spacious. Refrigerator/microwave/coffee pot was located in a large closet. Nice table with 2 chairs for eating/computer. Nice size dresser with TV. There was one building between us and the beach, so no view, but really close. Really close to restaurants/bars/stores. Easy walk. There are a few transients here and there, but not alot. They don't bother you or even talk to you. Mostly college students and vacationers. Free parking right outside your door. There is no breakfast at all provided. Very quiet, safe, enjoyable. There's a pool with an outside shower. Highly recommend.

The front staff was very nice. The hotel location is perfect as its so close to the beach. The only complaint is that if you are on the 1st floor, you can hear the footsteps of your upstair neighbors.
Also the parking lot on the front is tight so if you have a huge car, might need extra effort to get out.

It is definitely an older property, but overall is was a good place to stay for the price point. It needs a little TLC - a good wall wipe down, or a new layer of paint. The mattresses were a bit stiff, and there was a bit of outside noise (people, cars, etc.). But, it was generally clean and spacious. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. Was overall happy with our stay.

All in all, i like the hotel. It's a bit older, a few things cpuld be spot checked (broken floor tiles, vetns could be cleaned, just small details). Clean, felt safe.
The wifi is spotty, which this is a big deal for nomads/remote working.
The manager and staff are absolutely a delight! Helpful, kind, and just really nice.
The location is perfect! Right off the boardwalk/ ocean run and beach. Very walkable area.

We were greeted wonderfully and even checked in a tad early. The property is certainly older and you can tell they've done what they can to update it. Lots of little things like cables coming through the bathroom to the TV, dirt and smudges on the furniture were reminders of that. It didn't seem as clean as it could be, but we were only there one night and the location was good and perfectly walkable to everything we were doing in the area. Worth the cost overall.
