Loved everything about our stay! Great old hotel, cute old style elevator, nice stuff, breakfast outside and proximity to everything.

I reserved a regular room for one night. When I arrived Juan assigned me an accessible room. I didn't find this out until I went into the room. I declined the accessible room and showed him that was not what I reserved. Juan refused to provide a refund and stated they did not have the room I reserved available. Clearly they'd given my room to another customer. I even told the staff member, Juan, that I would pay the difference for the suite they did have available and he refused. When hotels.com tried to reach the manager/owner to resolve he/she was consistently unavailable. I hope the management doesn't provide a generic response to this review and instead simply refunds my $200+ . If you reserve a specific type of room with this hotel, call first and confirm.

Attentive staff.

Great location, minimal service. The free breakfast is a plus when traveling with kids. Things are a little run down but that’s to be expected next to the beach

Great place, beautiful room. Very close to beach and restaurants

Nice boutique hotel with friendly staff. Clean and inviting.

Unbeatable location—easy walk across the street to the beach, restaurants everywhere. Clean, cozy, comfortable room and beds. Bathroom was less private than ideal, a sliding door with a large gap no matter how you closed it. The vintage elevator is charming but unreliable, it wasn’t working intermittently during our stay, including the early morning when we checked out so we had to take three flights of stairs with our suitcases and toddler. If an elevator is an absolute must for your stay I would be weary of this option. Be mindful of the daily resort fee.

We love it! Staff is amazing. Will be back to this hotel.

Juan s. front desk was amazing!! He was able to upgrade us. The staff cleaning our room were amazing. The staff was very hard to make your experience memorable. Food was very good ! We will stay there again!

We got off to a tricky start with TV not working in one room then blinds falling down in the next but on our third room the staff couldn’t be more supportive and everything was great. Breakfast and seating area lovely only critique would be room sizes are small and certainly if anyone wants to work it would be difficult

Great location, art deco style, fair price, breakfast included

We asked to move rooms because of a noisy elevator. We were moved and upgraded with no problem. That alone will keep me coming back, not to mention the location, vibe and excellent staff.

I would not recommend this hotel for the price you pay. It has some historic charm which is nice but lacks in nearly every other aspect for the price. The internet, phone and TV did not work. Walked to front desk and was told the phone did work and to just dial “0” and that maintenance could not fix anything until the morning, this was early evening. You are also provided with pillows that are not even standard size, they are throws. We were told housekeeping would see if there were any additional pillows the next day- that did not happen. The maintenance person did come back the next day and fixed phone which was indeed not working as well as the TV. Internet, phone and cable went out again later that night. Asked what our options were to leave the first night and get some type of refund and was again told their would be no help until the morning. Have not had this bad of a hotel room experience in quite a while. My recommendation is that you are going to only employ a very limited amount of employees after 3pm then empower to make any calls or train them in basic assistance.

This hotel is right across the road from the beach and the beautiful boardwalk. When you pay the resort fee, it gets you access to a beach chair, which we enjoyed relaxing on before our cruise.

Terribly noisy and the hotel is charging a fee of 50$ US per night that was not mentioned when we booked.

A great one night restful stay at the Cavalier! Guesr Services were friendly and very helpful. Rooms were very clean and comfortable.
Excellent location.

Great location. Hotel was nice in the common areas. Rooms were pretty basic and not very high end. Room was a little run down (random broken or damaged things). Also awkwardly laid out. Not very many room amenities even the basic ones you'd expect like a coffee maker. There was a fridge, iron, and blow dryer. AC didn't work very well so it was hot at times. Any noise traveled from the hallway and there were lights and noise from outside our room at night. Hotel staff was average, not the most helpful or enthusiastic. Also asked for a taxi when I was leaving and they called me something other than a yellow cab and I ended up paying more. Also the free breakfast at the hotel was fine, but the service was terrible, maybe the restaurant is better when you actually pay, but inattentive and lackluster at the free breakfasts. For example, I asked several times for a tea and it never came so I just gave up. We actually went somewhere else for breakfast after the first day even though it was free at the hotel. Not the best hotel I've stayed at, but not the worst. Really close to everything in South Beach and the beach itself is right out front. Looks nice enough/good decor, staff did the basics, and the place was pretty clean and it had all you need to survive a weekend , but I'd never stay there again because I know I could get better for the money.

Juan (front desk) gets 5 stars ***** for being an excellent host throughout my stay, and generously accommodating my early arrival. I found the entire staff to be excellent and helpful. (Keep in mind that Miami Beach is like Latin America, so you need to ask for help if you want it.) Kudos to the staff for doing a great job! In other respects(this reflects management), the hotel deserves a solid 3 stars. A $40 per day "resort fee" with no pool or any resort facilities, only vouchers for beach chairs (worth $20 per day max) is a bunch of BS. The included breakfast (pretty simple) was a bonus, but unappetizing. The hotel actually has some pretty good food options, but they are on the menu, and not included in the room price. The best breakfasts I got were the yogurt and fruit, adding bacon and OJ (extras). And really, Cavalier management, disposable plastic cups in the rooms, instead of real water glasses? This is a rip off, not a real hotel!

We loved the vibe and location of this hotel. We were a group staying here for a convention at the Miami Beach Convention Center. Location couldn't be better, right on the beach (it's not often you get to dip your toes in the ocean before a full day at a trade show!). Staff was friendly and room was comfortable and clean. Bathroom did have very dim lighting (one of two bulbs were out as well). Wardrobe was spacious but I would have preferred a full length mirror in room rather than in the cramped wardrobe. Nights were a bit chilly and heater did not work in the room.
Breakfast was a basic selection of staples (eggs/bacon/toast, yogurt & fruit platter, etc.).
One night, a colleague had an issue with very loud guests next to his room and tried to call lobby, when no one answered he went down to find that no one was there (he waited 20 min for someone show up).
All considered we still had a great stay.

I had difficulty finding Cavalier Hotel South Beach. The hotel is located on a part of Ocean Drive that is blocked off to vehicle traffic. My Uber had to let me out on the closest corner to the hotel. The hotel name is not easily noticed when you are on the sidewalk, looking up at the buildings. The hotel's restaurant Ocean Bistro is clearly identifiable but from the outside it looks like a restaurant. It is more helpful to know that you are staying at the Ocean Bistro than the Cavalier Hotel.
The hotel itself was charming and had a lot of character. I would stay here again now that I know where it is located.

The staff was friendly, I was able to check in early and the restaurant was delicious. Best food in the area for sure ! Amazing location

My friend and I stayed in room 101. The loudest hotel experience we’ve ever had. The kitchen and lobby are directly next door. Banging dishes until 2am, could hear all guests in lobby plus the music playing. Was horrible. Room itself was clean. Location is right on the beach. Use parking garage off 13th. Nice complimentary breakfast.

The Cavalier is a really lovely boutique hotel located right on Ocean Drive in the heart of everything. For those looking to experience classic South Beach, it's a great choice. The property itself is very nice--entirely modern with most of the customary amenities of a high-end hotel, save a pool (but who needs a pool when the beach and the ocean are literally right across the street). It's really the service that sets the hotel apart, however. We arrived early from a cruise on a very busy Sunday morning but they got us into a room right away. Our room also included a light but very tasty breakfast each morning, which I got the sense was standard, as well as complimentary chairs on the beach. Bottom line: nothing in South Beach is "cheap," exactly, but some things are worth the price, at least relatively speaking. The Cavalier is one of those things.

Stepping into the Cavalier South Beach felt like stepping back in time to Miami's glamorous Art Deco heyday. Its pastel facade and curved lines oozed vintage character, instantly transporting me to a bygone era of flappers and cocktails. But stepping inside revealed a delightful surprise - the interiors seamlessly blended the old with the new, offering chic, contemporary comfort that felt anything but stuffy.
Location, Location, Location: As if ripped straight from a postcard, the Cavalier sits smack dab on Ocean Drive, offering prime real estate for both beach bumming and people-watching. The iconic white sand stretched out right across the street, and the pulsing energy of South Beach was just a few steps away.
Art Deco Delight: My room was a feast for the eyes, with geometric patterns, pops of color, and polished chrome accents. The balcony overlooking the vibrant street scene was the perfect spot to sip coffee and soak in the atmosphere. But fear not, modern travelers - the bathroom boasted a luxuriously spacious rain shower and plush towels, a welcome dose of modern decadence.
Beachside Breezes & Bites: The Ocean Bistro on the patio was a highlight. Latin-infused seafood dishes mingled with classic American fare, all served under the shade of swaying palm trees. The ocean breeze provided the perfect soundtrack, and the staff's friendly smiles made every meal a delight.
A touch of history: The hotel's heritage was subtly woven into the experience. Vintage photos and A

Loved the hotel

The room was comfortable and clean. There were plenty of bath products available in the room. Unfortunately, the hotel stairwell has a musty smell. Every morning you have a choice of five breakfast options which were all good. However, the public can dine there as well and gets a different menu. I felt like a second class customer when it came to breakfast service.

I had an excellent stay, clean hotel and staff were brilliant, especially the concierge - very helpful. Would definitely stay again!

This hotel is very charming and the rooms are comfy and clean. The only reason it didn't get a 4 star rating was because parking was very difficult.

Everything was good to great and we’ll be happy to stay again. The only minor issue for room 303 is that the elevator next to it is very noisy. It’s an old elevator in an building - so be it. Just if you do have a room choice then go with another.

Very loud. Tv sound was inaudible. Tv had closed captioning on by default due to volume as high as possible but inaudible.
Cute & boutique hotel with comfy beds & wonderful staff, just wish I had been able to sleep more than a few hours due to how loud it was

Everything was exceptional except the breakfast which was, quite frankly, below average. Everything was cold and the pancake needed to be sawed. So sad.

My visit to this property started poorly when there was no identifiable valet spot marked with the hotel logo. I had to park on the street a few blocks away and pay for parking just to get to the hotel lobby. There the staff informed me that I was supposed to park in the valet spot of the neighboring hotel/restaurant even if all spots were full/no attendant and bring the keys to the hotel. There were additional annoyances with the parking experience, but suffice it to say that If I am paying $45 for this it should be a convenient experience. Hotel itself was nice, good location. Floor in my room was so slippery from some cleaning product that I (M32) fell and hurt myself in the process. Breakfast was included in my price from the associated restaurant and was acceptable. Probably would not return to this establishment due to the plethora of other options in the area.

Enjoyed our two night stay. Was in a great location on ocean street. Staff were friendly. Free breakfast was basic and could be improved. Hotel is older but is kept up and has a lot of charm. Ultimately I would stay here again.
