We had a great time. we were both upgraded to ocean view rooms. Having a beach for the hotel was special. The staff went out of their way to help. The hula and lei lessons were a nice touch. We couldn't have had a more central site to tour from.

We had a great experience at this hotel. It is right on the beach and next to a decent size shopping center with a grocery store, pharmacy, multiple restaurants and dessert places, and tourist shops. It has beautiful grounds and there is a path along the beach you can walk for almost a mile north, which is great. The staff are all really friendly and helpful. We had originally booked a room with a queen bed but they had run out of that type of room when we checked in so we got a room with 2 double beds. The front desk staff were incredibly nice and helpful in checking other options and one gave us a box of chocolates and nuts for three inconvenience, which was really nice. One staff member, Torrie, really went above and beyond. She looked at the availability for us two nights in a row when we came to the front desk to check. On the second night, she told us to come check first thing in the morning to see if anything had opened up, but then she spent time to keep looking after we left to and she found something that would open up the next day. When we checked in the morning, the new room was already reserved and would be ready for us that afternoon. We were so appreciative of Torrie's efforts, enjoyed staying there, and would definitely come back!

We booked last minute! Front desk gal said to come back at 3 so we did and room was not ready and we were frustrated but she had the issue handled within 5-10 minutes. There were bugs in our bathroom - bathtub needs replacing - beds were good - could have used a blanket - pool nice and bartenders were nice.

Our plane was not scheduled to land until about 10:30 pm (which the hotel knew about) and then we had to get a rental car so we didn't get to the hotel until after midnight. The only person there to greet us was the security guard who said the only thing she could do was give us the keys to our rooms, if there were any problems with the rooms we would have to wait until morning to get them resolved. This hotel has no elevator and they put the room with 2 beds on the second floor (even though I requested handicap accessible), so my 83 year old parents (one with a bad back and one with double knee replacement) and I (with a full-leg brace due to recent knee surgery) had to climb up the stairs to get to our room. The security guard said we could call her until 1 am if we needed any additional pillows or blankets, but when we called she didn't answer. So, there's no one (not even security) at this hotel from 1 am until someone gets in in the morning. The room was so damp and mildewy, it felt like our sheets had just been taken out of the washer and never put in the dryer. Would not recommend this place AT ALL!

5 stars for the ocean view, sunrises, and nearby beaches, restaurants, and shopping. Nice small pool, hot tub, and pool bar but the room we stayed in needs a serious renovation (bed, bathroom, kitchen, doors, furniture, etc). Cleanliness could also be better.

We love this property and always stay here when we visit Kauai. It has Polynesian charm, great location and beautiful grounds. We like the lanais layout in each room and always choose either ocean view or partial ocean view. We always appreciate the microwave and mini-fridge.

We arrived hotel early and we could check in right away. Also we got comp upgrade to very nice room. We are very appreciate it. Front desk staff was friendly and very helpful. The location is good and very quiet. I highly recommended!!

What I didn't like was the $58 fee for something, I only knew about at check in, possibly a "resort fee". Otherwise, I enjoyed being there and thought the rate was fine, even with the hotel taxes, which are everywhere.

Great location, also for people with no car, bus stop is near by . Great view and beautifully kept hotel grounds linked to a walking trail. Swimmable beach . Rooms were decent. Recommended!

We didn’t think this was a bad place, it just wasn’t worth what they charged. Our room was pretty outdated; very few electrical outlets and some didn’t work. We had to pull the mattress and couch out to find outlets that worked. The temperature display on the AC unit was so bright it almost lit up the room. We ended up taping it over so we could sleep. We opened the closet door in the bathroom and boxes literally fell out of it. Definitely a junk closet with a weird assortment of stuff - open medicine bottles, tools, Rubbermaid products, a printer box, and an adult toy. The swimming pool was tiny for a hotel with this many units. You have to stay more 5 or more nights to get housekeeping service - unless you pay extra. The $25 night resort fee was a total ripoff. Except for wifi we did see or use any of the listed benefits. We knew Kauai was expensive, we just expected better for what we paid here.

Amazing stay, perfect central location, so many walkable places near by for shopping and eating. Great walking/bike3 trail spans the area in front of this resort along with many others along the beautiful beaches.

Booked one night as we had extended our stay for a water excursion. Check in time was 3:00 pm. We arrived at 3:30 and our room was not ready. 4:45 our room was finally ready. Booked for 3 people but pullout was not made and towels only for 2 people. No compensation or offers of any kind made for us. Only excuses. Room itself is very dated and well worn. Would not stay again.

We only stayed one night, but we loved the room and the property. The grounds of the property had beautiful landscaping and we enjoyed the pool with a bar with happy hour right next to it! We loved that you can walk on a trail along the ocean right from the property. It is a 5 minute drive to Lydgate Park for safe swimming in the ocean. The room was spotless and very clean. The bathroom and shower area were spacious and included nice quality soap, lotion, shampoo and conditioner. The kitchenette area was convenient with a fridge, microwave and Keurig machine. They even provided dishes, silverware and 4 keurig pods. The bed was comfortable with nice linens. The two things to make us give 4 stars instead of 5 are that we had to wait until 3:30 to check in and parking was difficult to find in their lot when we returned from dinner in the evening. Otherwise, we enjoyed our short stay, we would recommend and we will definitely stay again when we return to Kauai.

This was a great location for our last two nights after staying north in Princeville. The room was spacious & had everything, including a boogie board and a rice cooker. I don’t know if all rooms are like that but we loved room 321 in the Hawaii building. The pool bar was fun and had a good happy hour.

The location was convenient and near to restaurants. However, the facility/structure was outdated and so was the furniture and decor. Compared to places like KBR, their rooms in general are not as nice.

A little out dated. We were told our room would be cleaned halfway through our stay. I think they changed our towels, but that’s about it. They didn’t change the sheets or make the bed, just left a note saying there was something on the bed? But nothing was on it. A fight between drunk people broke out during our stay and our front door didn’t close properly. We also received an unsavory note on our windshield one morning, although we hadn’t parked poorly.

The front desk was friendly and able to find a room more suitable to our expectations as we were displeased with our initially assigned groundfloor oceanfront room. We would go back again, if we could have our same third floor oceanfront room. Pool area and grounds were clean and other visitors pleasant. It is near the Coconut Marketplace and also walkable to other shopping and dining. It is a pleasant and marvelous location, yet older accomodation. If you like Hyatt or Sheraton hotels, this may not meet your expectations.

We absolutely LOVED our stay here!!! My husband and I stayed here for part of our honeymoon and really wished we spent the entire time here because it was absolutely perfect! The staff were so friendly and welcoming from the moment we walked in, which isn’t always the easiest to do when working in hospitality. Their kindness was very much appreciated. Thank you for giving us a wonder end to our stay on the island. Can’t wait to come back!

The surrounding area is beautiful. Had to wait two hours past check in for our room, and the requested first floor that we requested, and were told was available when we started the check in process suddenly was not. So we had to switch rooms to it the next day when it was available, which was a hassle. Also, note there are no elevators in the facility! The property is in need of updating, and remodeling. The screen wouldn't lock which made it difficult to leave the door open to hear the ocean at night in our ocean front room which was one of the draws for this place. Little things like noticing they had ceiling fans going above the staff at the check in desk, but fans in the rest of the lobby where the guests had to sit and wait in the humidity were not running. I liked the location, but probably would chose a better maintained and run facility next time.

Place is right on the beach and some restaurants next door. Some of the rooms are somewhat dated as they are all individually owned. Our room was on the 3rd floor and there are no elevators. So be sure you are aware of that. The grounds are very nice and the little poolside bar was great.

I wasn't impressed, there were several issues with the hotel. The first was that there's not enough parking, coming back in the evening you almost always have to wait for someone to leave which can be a long wait because people are in for the night. Also the spaces are very tight, hard to get in & out of with a Chevy Malibu, I'd hate to have had anything bigger. The second might be a seasonal thing, I was there in October, but the beach had too high surf for snorkeling or much of any in-water activity other than surfing, don't plan on using the beach here for anything but sunbathing, it was quite steep too so not even good for walking. Finally, the pillows and mattresses were like rocks and I didn't sleep well at all. On the other hand the property was quite clean, and the pool and hot tub were nice. It's the cheapest place on Kauai so what do you want I guess...
