We were there for a work trip and had some issues with our work van. They were wonderful and so accomodating helping us and letting us leave some items there until they could be picked up by the towing company.

This a great hotel. I go to a number of hotels in this price range around the country for work and this one surpasses the others. This is because of simple things: bed has a wood headboard which both looks better and is cleanlier, the bottom of the bed looks sharp with the indented metal frame and no bedskirt (which is always scary/gross looking), there are glass mugs & cups with the paper covering along with paper cups, the mirror has lighting all around, and I love when there is a table and chairs (instead of a gross upholstery chair like other hotels have). Only 2 things of note is it would be nice to have a full body length mirror, but the lighted bathroom mirror is large so it mostly works and to put refillable shampoo & conditioner bottles on the walls of the shower to reduce waste.

The hotel was clean. The staff was friendly. The breakfast was good. There is no elevator. Every time you wanted to go into the pool room, you needed to have someone from the front desk unlock it. There is no restaurant on site but plenty of choices within a couple miles or less.

The front desk staff was friendly and accommodating, they kindly changed our room to first floor, which had been booked through a service. Many times motels won't do that when you don't book direct as the best rooms are reserved for guests paying full price.
The room was clean and an array of toiletry items were provided.
One thing I would have liked is if there would have been a selection of different degrees of softness wth the pillows.
The breakfast was adequate with some choices for gluten free, like boiled eggs, yogurt, fresh fruit.
It was snowing and blowing when we arrived and I was a little concerned about how the condition of the parking lot would be as we were leaving before sunrise.
It was plowed out early and all we had to do was clean off the car and go.
Also, the entrance to the rooms was through the lobby which to me is very convenient.
I would be happy to stay at this motel the next time I am in the area.

A good option for the Houghton/Hancock area. Clean and quiet. All the staff I encountered was friendly and very helpful. The pool and hottub area was clean, well stocked with towels and had late hours which I appreciated.

The hotel has declined in the last 4 years. Stained carpets. Free breakfast ran out of food before it closed. No bar.

The overall property was nice. I was very unhappy when we found out that the room we had rented did not have a kitchen. It said on the website that it had a kitchen. It was a microwave and a refrigerator with extra counter space. Also the pictures of the room were misleading making it appear there could have been a full kitchen. Very disappointed in this aspect. The rest of the hotel was nice.

This is a very nice hotel in a great location. They allowed us to park our car in their lot for an additional week while we traveled to Isle Royale. We will return to this hotel on our next trip.

Staff was very friendly. Great options for breakfast. Walking the waterfront was very relaxing. The only thing that would have made it better was chairs on the patio to enjoy the view.

This hotel is in a potentially nice area however it seems everything is tired. The Personal Touch of a nice hotel does not appear here. However all the basics were handled fairly well. I would be back if my favorite Hotel was booked in the area

This is a very pleasant hotel. Without our knowledge, our granddaughter put two of her Barbie's is the desk drawer. Of course we left without them. We were contacted by the hotel the day of departure to inform us they had been left behind and they promptly mailed them to us. We greatly appreciated this service.

We have stayed here often, our daughter just completed her Master's Degree at MTU, and has been in the area for 2.5 years. We love this hotel, its on the water with walkways along the water, my husband loves to fish there. The hotel is not fancy, but nice, clean and convenient to everything and. Lose to ghe bridge. We have fallen in love with the area! So much to do and see, especially if you enjoy nature! The Keewanaw is the best of Michigan and this is a great place to stay to enjoy it!!

A lovely view of the historic Hancock Houghton Lift Bridge, this hotel sits right on the waterfront. The hotel was built around 20 years ago but the upkeep is good and cleanliness is excellent. I am a Hancock graduate and the last time I was home this hotel was brand new and this hotel still holds pride in quality, cleanliness, and overall staff eagerness to make your stay comfortable. The only downside is the lack of an elevator if you happen to be on the second floor with small children and a van full to unpack but the staff offered to help of which I declined. It was my overlook when I booked it because this is honestly the first hotel I have been to that didn’t have an elevator and we go on vacation and stay at hotels every other month for the past 8 years.
The pool area looked amazing but we were too busy to use it. The breakfast options were plentiful and the staff had it well stocked.
