Perfect jumping off point for our Costa Rica trip - this oasis was just 35 minutes from Liberia airport and gave us both the beach and jungle vibes we were dreaming of. Very comfortable and well decorated room, steps away from a calm beach. We were picked up for a private boat ride from the beach and walked to dinner at a nearby beach restaurant. We loved swimming at happy hour with monkeys above the pool as entertainment.
Only con was food/drinks were a little on the pricier side, but to be expected as this type of beach hotel.

What a wonderful find of this boutique hotel. Ocean view room had two big picture windows overlooking the beach with balcony and living room. Bath tub outside on deck. Up and walked beach at 6 am 25 minutes from airport.

Property was beautiful and rooms were very nice. Restaurant is very good, and bar serves happy hour every day from 5-7pm. Property is isolated from any town if you do not have a car. Beach is beautiful. They need to work on beach amenities like lounging chairs and towels which are all quite worn down. Also pool area could be kept nicer since leaves are a big problem. There is a huge potential but it needs more attention. For relaxation, it is a great place. But not much more.

This property is very old, and it has not been renovated. There are wasps in the room, and I have gotten bitten.We have noticed that there are glass doors which does not close and there is mesh with lot of holes through which wasps come into room. No fan in any of those rooms, it was pretty hot, only option is to open the patio door, but it brings wasps into the room

Beautiful grounds and everything is a 30 second walk which makes it nice for familes with small children. Some of the staff were great like the parking lot attendant who volunteered to wash my car at no charge but ither hotel employees (restaurant staff) are inattentive and extremely forgetful. Some also seemed quite annoyed with some of our average requests. Overall, nice hotel but the staff could use an upgrade.

I absolutely loved everything about this hotel. We stayed in several hotels in Costa Rica and this was by far our favorite. Beautiful and right inside of nature, spacious while still feeling private, clean and stunningly designed rooms, the kindest staff, great help with connecting us for tours, walkable to the beach in just 1 second, great restaurant and delicious beverages, incredible spa services, and great location to other things to do in the city, this hotel exceeded my expectations and we will certainly be back.

Do not go. Do not ! Plumbing issue makes entire rooms smell like poo. We got moved three times and all poo smell. At First staff tried to mask it with Febreeze or some odor masking spray. So strong we couldn't be inside until it went away made us choke . Then the poo smell came back. Security boxes don't work. Sound of street super loud. Worst part is we later saw the owner manager that was supposed to help take care of issue at a bar. On a date. With a guest of The hotel! Do not book here

We had a great time. The staff was amazing, friendly and attentive. The restaurant was very good and clean, not sure why people posted poor reviews in the past about the restaurant. We really enjoyed it. Thank you for making our stay enjoyable.

I really enjoyed my time at Hotel Bosque del Mar. The staff was extremely kind and attentive! Food and drink were affordable and the quality was above par for the area. The grounds were gorgeous and well kept.
There were monkeys and birds in the jungle right outside of my room. The beach is 30 yards from your breakfast table. Great home base for activities in Gunanacaste. The grounds felt safe and secure. Parking is on site and there is an attendant on staff.

Porperty location is nice, it is right next to the Ocean, we enjoyed the Ocean v ery much.
Nothing extra was offered to us as a VIP member, even tough they had a higher class room we were asked for $50 additional per night wich we ended up not taking.

Wonderful smaller hotel, steps from the beach so you can always hear the surf offering large naturally shaded area to enjoy the beach out of the sun. Restaurant and bar offered exceptional staff and great food and drink choices. Driver provided for the airport as well as local trips for dining or shopping. This was our first trip to this hotel but we have already booked for next year.

An amazing, sleekly designed hotel built within a gorgeous jungle, and on one of the best beaches in Guanacaste. There's a lot to love here, the suites are nice, the grounds are beautiful. The staff is wonderful and very knowledgeable and helpful.
You won't want to leave this place, except you'll have to because of the one major flaw: the restaurant. It is so bad (though breakfast is fine) that you will need to leave the property for lunch and dinner every day. The options near the hotel are very limited and for anything really good you'll need to use the car, which you better have rented. The restaurant's problems stem from the management company, not the chef. This is obvious from the the ludicrous menu. Dishes range from Greek to Italian to Thai to French to Indian, to steak and beyond, get the picture? No good restaurant every has options that varied. Everything is over seasoned and tastes like it was in a freezer moments before you ate it. AND it's all very expensive, by any standard anywhere in the world. A totally new menu/vision is needed. The restaurant is the only thing holding this hotel back from becoming the 4 star destination it should be.

My friends and I had a fabulous time at Hotel Bosque del Mar! The rooms were great and were well-cleaned and taken care of throughout the trip. Breakfast was our favorite time of the day since we made great connections with the staff specifically Alexis and Danielle (and Carlos!) - they were always so attentive, friendly, and kind and truly went above and beyond for us. The hotel is right by the beach which allowed us to swim and kayak with so much ease. I would highly recommend this location!

Very cool property. It felt like the jungle grew right into the property. Very unique vibe to have jungle and be 50’ from the beach. They were remodeling the 12 beachfront units so unfortunately there was construction noise all day but we understood. It will be really nice when they complete the renovations. Were were in one of the 3rd floor suites which was plenty roomy, just needs updating. Staff was fantastic. Fabian was very attentive to our needs. Food was prepared very well. Grounds were well kept up. The pool was very nice but unfortunately had kids in it most of the time so not as calming as we hoped for. Because you are enveloped in the beautiful trees, you don’t really have a traditional “ Ocean View”. Beach was clean and location was quiet.

This property is beautiful especially for the price. Staff was very accommodating and quick to help. The large ceiling to floor windows provide an absolutely amazing view. Beds are comfortable. Food was good! Beautiful hotel grounds and easy beach access with lounge chairs. Staff is happy to help.

Hotel Bosque del Mar is the perfect place to stay if you are looking for beauty, privacy, and great customer service. We stayed for a week, and by the end, our waiters and front desk knew us by name and room number. They made all the arrangements for tours and transportation.
They have their own private beach, with lounge chairs and food/drink servers taking care of us - pool too!
The rooms are immaculate, as are the grounds, with the jungle feel and only steps to the beach.Exactly as pictured. My emails were replied to promptly, and airport transportation was provided (at a fee).
It was perfect for us, as we didn't need a lot of activities, but for those who do, the front desk can make arrangements.
A special shout out to Roylan Perez who took personal care of us from the moment we landed.

We truly loved our stay at Bosque Del Mar in Playa Hermosa. The hotel is beautiful, and the proximity to Playa Hermosa beach is a game changer. For first time travelers to Costa Rica, this hotel had everything we could've asked for. Safe, quiet, and clean, with friendly staff who go the extra mile. This hotel is also conveniently located near many tourist attractions. We will definitely be booking another stay soon!

Our family had a wonderful stay. We were welcomed with delicious drinks and taken to our spacious suite. The restaurants were wonderful. We enjoyed dinner every night with Jonathan. Loved the location on the beach. The concierges were wonderful and made us feels so welcome, especially Roy. He was so friendly and helpful our entire trip. We can't wait to come back.

I purposely booked the Ocean facing suite for the Jacuzzi. However, to our surprise, the jacuzzi did not work. We found out late into 10pm, and the staff attempted to fix the jacuzzi for us. However, it didn't work and we were offered to move into another Ocean facing room with a Jacuzzi but short of one queen size bed. Our family was disappointed. In addition the two televisions in our suite did not allow us to change the language - ended up only Spanish shows.

Beautiful property and rooms! We had a family suite and it was spacious and comfortable. Really nice hotel with a stunning beach. Also really close to the airport which was super convenient for our last night in Costa Rica.

Lovely staff at this hotel and the location on the beach was great. We could hear the waves from the room and the balcony had a beautiful view. The room was quite dated and run down though. The hot tub was so old I did not want to use it and the beds were not at all comfortable. Dinner in the restaurant was good but the drinks at happy hour were not!!
It was quite expensive to stay relative to other hotels we stayed in and the room felt a little run down which is a shame as it is a great location and the staff are brilliant.

We were only there for one night. But it was enjoyable and relaxing. Hotel Bosque is a nice property, right on the beach. The water was tranquil and warm. The pool was decent too. The porter was particularly helpful and watched over the beach quite a bit too.
Our room was not the best--it was not what we reserved. After a bit of back and forth at the desk, they comped our family a lovely three course dinner, with smoothies etc. included. They also comped us breakfast (though that may have already been included.) Regardless, they make a good effort to make up for us not having the room we booked, which is greatly appreciated.
The other room we booked was as expected and very nice.
