Comfortable room, good breakfast (the waffles are particularly good!)
Unfortunately the hotel had apparently run entirely out of soap.
Also, our washroom had an entire door missing. I don't know how they're renting out the room with that kind of oversight.
Hallways also have a lot of holes on the walls. Not sure what they they're doing

Clearly a derelict hotel that they are trying to refurbish on a shoestring budget. First room old smelly with beds I imagine were recycled from a penitentiary (sic). The kicker was the heater that made a high pitched squeal.
The room we moved to (second floor) was better. A little fresher but required real cleaning (dust on headboards (heavy) coffee rings on tables etc.
bathroom although refreshed was finished poorly. If you are going to take the time to drywall and mud then take the time to sand the mud smooth before painting. Tub is slow to drain but based on the drywall open in the hallway upstairs (every 10’ or so) I suspect they are trying to address that though not very professionally ( galvanized plumber strap on unprotected copper will open a world of hurt down the road. Licensed tradespeople know this).
Beds in the new room. Confusingly high off ground. One was on an incline with feet about 5degrees above your head and well used in the centre.
The second bed though still high up was comfortable but squeaky.
Fun fact Google maps reported this hotel as “permanently closed”.
Note to owner. Spend the money. Don’t cheap out and do it right. Your hotel is truly a diamond in the rough. Probably refurbished this will be a really good property. You definitely aren’t there yet.

The sheer curtain was stuck together. The coffee maker spilled water on the tray. Thankfully, friendly front desk staff (I would've been afraid to tell the clerk that was at the desk last night) brought me a carafe of coffee which unfortunately, tasted awful. The wallpaper in the bathroom was peeling off the wall. There was lots of hot water!

never ever. But you will get what you pay for. Btw they will charge you more end of day. I don't know why. And nobody wants to deal with that. I you are looking for the cheap hotel with the bad service it is the one.

Clean & the breakfast excellent, along with the very gracious & attentive breakfast employee ( sorry didn’t get her name , should be commended…. A job well done, pride in her work !

Receptionist was unfriendly and did not even get up to greet me when I arrived. She offered no conversation or information about the stay at all. The room was smelly and the sheets on one of the beds had some stains on both the top and bottom sheets. There was no coffee or even a coffee pot and no hair dryer. We informed the unfriendly receptionist and were told there was no one from housekeeping that could help us, so she gave us keys for another room 2 doors down, but it was exactly the same as the one we were in, so we exchanged the sheets from the second room and changed the bedding ourselves…very poor customer service. The same person was on check out next morning and still just as unprofessional and unfriendly. We will never return to Comfort Inn in Port Hope again. I think we should have at least been given a discount!

The initial room provided was dirty and lots of broken stuff (bed, non working lights, bathroom vent, door latch). Had to switch room. Both rooms had large flies and carpet stains. The check-in staff was nice and helpful. The check out staff in the morning was extremely rude. They couldn’t even accommodate a courtesy additional 15-minute late checkout for the inconvenience. Never staying again.

For the price very good room and nice breakfast but really in bad need of updating heater in room rusted and when tried to turn on heat made horrible sound. Room clean but needs some TLC. Staff helpful and polite.

The breakfast was great. It was noisy with a group of parents with adolescent boys who they were allowing to run up and down the halls between rooms so lots of door slamming. Having had many hockey playing nephews, l fully get the need to have fun and burn off energy so l waited until close to 11pm to call the front desk. They were very considerate and spoke to them immediately and it quieted down. Had to giggle the next morning when standing in line for coffee the next day behind a weary looking mother who was complaining to her friend about someone calling the front desk on them. 😀

Not staying here again. One of the beds collapsed on one end, there was no pho e in the room, no thermostat to adjust heat, plasic lids for coffeecups dont fit; 1 persn only on staff to ckeck 7 people in; ring in sink missing, just very poor quality for a Comfort Inn. Skip this hotel, seriousy.

We arrived in our room to find:
- fecal matter in our toilet
- very dirty under bed
- bathroom sink would not drain properly
- 3rd floor ice machine was not working
- peeling paint on ceiling of bathroom
- water spots on bathroom mirror and brown spots on bathroom door
- remote control for TV did not work
- only saving grace was Diane who provided a delicious breakfast, kept the tables clean and did a terrific job
- Diane is the reason we have given one star
- we would respectfully like to request our money back please

Property is ran down and in dire strait need of renovation. Hand sink was full of mold in the cracks, tile, walls, baseboard all were broken. Carpet can not be cleaned and needs replacement. front desk and lady helping with breakfast were nice

Very nice room, comfortable beds and acceptable breakfast facility. There were road improvements around the hotel and the workers were noisy - just the time of year!!

I stayed in a King Room and it was extremely large and clean and comfortable. Bed was comfy and a very large flat screen TV. Extremely polite, professional and very fast young lady at the Front Desk (I checked in late @ 8:30 pm). Parking was close to the front door and breakfast was very good. I honestly didn’t hear anything in the hallways or once in the room. Maid was extremely polite and helpful. Excellent price for this property and 5 stars all the way if you want a nice, clean, quiet and comfortable, safe place to stay. I travel a lot and I HIGHLY RECOMMEND this property.

the person in charge when we arrived did not seem to want to be there, we did not feel welcome at all

One bed was broken! The box spring frame wood was almost touching the floor and this bed would only work for a small child.
The mini fridge didn’t work and is full of MOLD.
The hot water tap in the sink has no water. The cold water works but is hard to operate. The AC/heat is very noisy.
The non broken bed is extremely soft/worn out.
Overall an old, tired hotel with dirty hallways but the room other than the fridge was reasonably clean and the shower has hot water after running for five minutes.

Ashley checked us in and was very helpful with dining recommendations (Turtle John’s). She also helped us to get the TV working when I accidentally messed it up. She was awesome!
