Lovely hotel, great rooms .
The staff in restaurants and friendly and welcoming.
The reception always feels stuffy and unwelcoming.

A very nice hotel. The staff is very friendly and informative. The food was very good. The advantage is the location of the hotel in the city center. I highly recommend it

The worst place we stayed on our 2 week vacation even though it was the most expensive place we stayed during the trip. Run down. Rude bar customer service. The only positive was free parking.

Cool older building. Staff very nice

Plus points - we needed a room change and the Hotel helped - breakfast was excellent. Negatives - the Hotel is "tired" , has a crazy parking arrangement and the evening meals are certainly not the advertised fine dining. They are charging top end rates but the Hotel no longer lives up to them

Great hotel, absolutely loved the spa and gym. And cute how they cater for dogs, with dog bed, bowls and a snack bag! Dogs welcome in bar area.
Great central location. Free parking was definitely a plus and roomy car park that fitted our big van. Rooms are spacious with comfy beds.
Nice tasty buffet breakfast with loads to choose from. Dinner was ok, my steak was tough for the price I paid, ordered med-rare but it came out well done.
Would stay again and recommend to friends for sure!

As always, a great stay. Restaurant was exceptional.

Excellent stay overall, good breakfast selection, on the negative we were all a bit disappointed a hotel of this size bar was closed when we returned just after 11

Lovely staff, great room with lots of additional items as part of the deal.
Would definitely stay here again, but will attend the Gym for three weeks before we arrive due to the cardiac hill up to it.
Great stay.

Lovely night away. Room was lovely with so many extras to use and a great size.
Staff very helpful. Lovely evening meal and a nice self service breakfast.
Would recommend this. Although we didn’t use the leisure centre this time we have in the past.

The Stirling Highland Hotel was probably our favorite of our stays. The location was great as it was near so many things within walking distance. For example my husband and I easily found our way up the hill to the amazing Stirling Castle - a must see - and then trekked down to a local fun pub for an experience hanging with some of the locals near by. We loved hanging out the in hotel bar as well in a warm cushy room enjoying cocktails and snacks in between activities. We would definitely stay here again if we return to Scotland again.

Lovely place, nice hotel. However, when I picked up the TV remote control I recoiled in horror. Not only was this contraption so well thumbed that the control icons had worn off so a best guess was all you could do, but the control was FILTHY. That is no stretch, completely disgusting. I went to the front desk where I was told "yes it very old" to which I replied "No, it's kin filth". That kind of set mood for a while. The windows are I'll fitting wooden ones, with old latches on that don't fully close the window for draught free closure. The replacement remote didn't function too well either. Cheap copy. The area is great. Castle well worth a look, expect hills but worth the push, and the graveyard goes back to the 1500's.

A very quick stop over on a trip to the Highlands, but everything was very good. Pleasant and efficient check in and check out. Great breakfast, again with efficient service. Room was great, very comfortable, bathroom a little tired, but clean and superb shower. Can't comment on much else as it were there less than 12 hours.

Great place, comfortable, affordable and really friendly and lovely staff - in fact, the best I encountered on my trip of Loch Lomond.

My Room 329 was a basic but beautiful room but no soundproofing whatsoever. There was a locked door attached to another room in which the guests every movement, every word, everything they watched on tv , the business calls they continued to make afternoon, evening and before breakfast on a Saturday morning was horrendous. If you closed your eyes you would believe they were in the room with you. The resident in the other room was not antisocial and would have been embarrassed to know how much of their conversation could be clearly heard. This was all down to no soundproofing whatsoever of these adjoining rooms. Staff at checkout never seemed concerned of this when complaint was made. I have previous been at this hotel on 3 occasions and my partner 4 and there has never been an issue with noise and soundproofing before.

Rooms are a bit dated but also the style of the hotel 1800s build. Exceptionally clean, great staff, great pool facilities. Would highly recommend! Also definitely get the breakfast!

We booked a 1 night family room for a quick get away.
We stayed with dinner bed and breakfast.
Welcome staff were lovely and helpful really nice.
The restaurant meal was very nice, we had steak which we paid for but it was cooked perfectly and really tasty. The kids portions are huge there was a lot of waste maybe half these for little guests.
The breakfast was plentiful too really nice, would have liked a late but no big deal. The staff all worked hard and are helpful.
We used the pool twice it was great, clean facilities too and nice staff.
We stayed in a family room. Room was quite outdated, could do with a bit of a makeover. The bunk beds were a bit old fashioned could do with a makeover too. Drawer handle falling off.
The TV wasnt great struggled to switch it on and limited channels.
Beds were comfortable and nice.

Unfortunately this is not a four star hotel. It is tired and the rooms are in need of some moderations i.e
we stayed in more modern addition to the hotel but is very tired - beds very soft, cheap duvets, tea an coffee facilities had to be pulled out of a cupboard which meant that you could not walk around the bed area. The windows did not close properly with a noticeable draft catches falling apart. Double bed with only one bedside table and one socket for any devices. Hot English/Scottish breakfast however only thin sliced bread available, (no fresh bread) pastries limited and not replenished. Tea and coffee machine broken so we had hot water for tea in a flask however these were not kept separate from the coffee and clearly were mixed up so the hot water was tainted with coffee. The spa included a sauna ,steam room and swimming pool which was rather cool. The bar and restaurant are located in the old building which is rather impressive and if the whole hotel was up dated this would make for a more pleasurable stay,. Overall the hotel needs some attention.

It was supposed to be a 4* hotel…but it was 2* at best. The room was very badly presented (see photos) and the zipped together beds were uneven and uncomfortable, as were the pillows.
The customer service was disappointing and showed very little focus on finding an appropriate resolution.
The spa facilities were old, cold and lacking any luxury.
Food was ok-good variety and choice at breakfast.

Really good comfortable stay, bed was comfortable, breakfast was excellent, staff were all friendly and couldn't do enough for you

I always think the measure of customer service is what happens when things go wrong. We had stayed previously here and loved it so booked to stay on our way to the airport to break our journey and not be so tired when we got there. Unfortunately the couple in the room next to us were arguing and shouting loudly, swearing and banging. We put up with it for a little while, but at about midnight and having not slept we called reception. The phone rang and rang and was not answered. My husband got up and dressed to go down to reception, which was empty. He had to search the hotel and eventually found the night porters through a locked door. Despite holding up his room key to show he was a guest they were very rude, speaking very briefly to him before relocating the door and left my husband to walk back through the drizzle to get back to reception. One of the porters came up with my husband, gave the softest ever knock on the door and when the obviously didn’t answer, left it at that. We spoke to reception in the morning but felt we were fobbed off a bit by reception. It’s very sad because the rest of our stay was great. It isn’t the fault of the hotel that the room next door were having a massive loud argument, however it is totally their fault as to how their night staff behaved. We are still waiting on an email from management. Sadly, I’m don’t think I would want to come back.
