Beautiful building, clean inside, nice enough. I do think for such a great old house they are missing the mark on decor. The entry and the upstairs landing area (hall) could use a little life. Maybe just a bench with pillows for a pop of color in the hall upstairs and a colorful floral arrangement in the entry. A few small tweaks to make the space more inviting.

Very nice bed and breakfast! We loved that it was quiet atmosphere and the grounds of the premises was absolutely beautiful! We will be back.

Easy check in and clean room but shower wasn’t hot, drain was clogged, and bed was very creaky. Wouldn’t stay again.

It was great. Very cute and clean place. The surrounding neighborhood is nice and lots of cool homes. You can walk to various restaurant. Our only "complaint" is that leaving the Cottage House is a little awkward if there is a wedding taking place on the outside pavilion. You have to walk out along the guest seating to leave your room. Plus, the guests sit right outside of your room. However, we would stay there again.

A little difficult to find at night. They could use some better lighting and signage. Parking is also a little problematic. Not well described on website.

This is a beautiful small hotel. It seems more geared for events and only has 8 rooms available. Each room is unique. We had an upstairs king room which was quite lovely and spacious. The heater controls were a little too modern; I couldn’t figure out how to turn on the heater but the employee was very pleasant and helpful and came promptly to start it even though he seemed to be the only one working that evening and was busy checking in another family and also was dealing with getting the internet back up. He had the internet back up by the time we returned from dinner. They offer a continental breakfast but we didn’t have any since we were heading out for a massage. The hotel is situated in a nice, fairly quiet neighborhood not too far from downtown. There is limited parking, but it is a small hotel. Coming from the car park, I accidentally went into the hotel through a side entrance, but the employee was unfazed and was very quick about checking me in and showing me the way to my room (looking at the picture, my room was the 2 windows upstairs on the left). I would definitely stay again.

We loved the cleanliness of the property. We also enjoyed talking to one of the staff about the history of the house.

A historic mansion with beautiful grounds in a nice area with alot of eclectic dining and amenities in walking distance... but it needs some TLC and updates. Easy and safe parking. The pink tile bathroom shower needs a makeover, suggest having a wastebasket in the room, a club chair in the room would be nice to have a place to sit besides the bed, and maybe suggest a quick carpet cleaning. The cold continental breakfast was good, but maybe have a Keurig in the dining area for those of us who work late and need a coffee or tea.

This was a very quaint and cozy hotel for my hubby and I. Worth the price! I would definitely stay here again! You could always eat breakfast somewhere else because it’s not something that I would make for breakfast…. Carbs central!!

Stunning & historic B&B mansion in a central location. I enjoyed my stay and hope to return again very soon!

Really wanted to love this problem. The mansion is beautiful, historic, charming. No reception desk. Bed was comfortable and there was central heat in the room. Unfortunately no cold water in the claw foot tub that I was looking forward to relaxing in. Only hot water so I couldn’t take a bath due to scalding hot water. The shower head was dripping continuously and needs to be fixed. Did not try the breakfast. There are many restaurants close by. Just 3 blocks from the Ice Blocks.

Cable didn’t work. Need thermostat directions. Freezer iced over. Asked for extra hangars, no show. Big picture window non-operable; okay but put sign up say so. Try to open it and frame is broken, easily breakable, could be dangerous. Front and side decks getting a little shaky especially in rain. Breakfast was very nice. Bed getting sunk in a bit. I like vintage but it’s gotta be in great shape.

The property is beautiful and in a very walkable part of midtown. The mansion has seen better days, the room was shabby and worn. Hotel staff was never seen aside from check in. Breakfast was serviceable.

Its the best option when you are looking for a balance between quality and price. Room and facilities are clean.

The staff were fantastic and flexible. The location is wonderful, the price was right. I do have two areas for suggested improvements. First and foremost, the room smelled very very heavily of cleaning fluid. Please use unscented products or rinse more thoroughly or something. It was pervasive throughout my stay. Also, the Wi-Fi was very weak. But I managed to use hotspot on my phone. Thank you.

We enjoyed the hotel, the room was cute and comfortable. The breakfast was ok but didn't live up to the description. Use caution here, our car was broken into overnight in their parking lot and there was not staff around in the morning that I could find to help. Luckily there are some window repair businesses nearby. Don't trust the neighborhood.

What I didn’t like was being charged twice for 1 nights stay. Staff on hand couldn’t help me and said manager will follow up with me to resolve this overpayment. Expedia charged me already when I booked and the Vizcaya charged me again when I arrived.

Mario, who prepared and served our breakfast, was kind enough to arrange a free ride to the Amtrak station for us; otherwise, we would have had to take a taxi. The driver he called was punctual and refused any payment. Everything about our stay was great except for the TV in our room, which we struggled to operate.

Property itself was beautiful. The young man who checked me in was great. I stayed in carriage house 3 which required walking through a wedding to get to the room, kinda awkward. The wood stairs up to the room seriously need to be replaced, they are soft and feel like they might give way. The room was very pretty. Huge bath tub/shower. Bathtub drained fine, but when I took a shower in the AM the shower backed up. The mattress was AWFUL. It had a significant dip in the middle. I could not find a position that did not hurt my back (I don't have back problems at all, it was just the mattress). There was a very loud machine (sounded almost like an air compressor or gas generator) that would come on every hour and violently shake the building, so I woke up once every hour all night. They offer street parking, or have a small 3 car parking lot. I got a spot in the lot which I assumed would be safer and came out to discover my car had been broken into and my GPS and flash drive stolen. Came in and asked if they had a camera back there, answer was no and oh well... the young lady who checked me out acted like she did not care at all/ or that it was something that happened a lot. I was very excited about staying here because the website makes it look like a high quality place with five-star service. I love bed and breakfast places because of the more personal vibe/better service you usually get, very disappointed with this place, won't be back.

Parking is difficult but the manager gave up his parking space to us.

My friend and I stayed over for one night, we had a lovely room. I love the crispy sheets! Domenic was very helpful getting us to our dinner reservation on time. Will consider this again in the future.

Breakfast was not available at 7 as described in the services provided. I've stayed there before and was quite happy w/ the range of offerings they had so quite disappointed breakfast was not available either day. Picture below was taken at 7:30 so wasn't a matter of being a little late. No one was there, lights off & doors locked.

I thought we would be staying in the main mansion. But our room was actually in the back in a separate building. To me, it seemed like the building was old servants quarters that were converted. The room we stayed in was like staying in my grandmas guestroom. It was super dated and needed to be upgraded. I understand grandma chic, but this wasn’t it. It was very disappointing and not worth the price. I used my free points that I have been saving for over a year, it was a complete waste. The box spring also had splotches of blood on it.

It was really clean and the room itself was really roomy compared to regular hotel rooms. It also didn’t smell which most hotels usually has its own smell too. Bed was really comfortable and clean.
