Beautiful historic school house only a few blocks from downtown. Tina is a wonderful host and has done a great job with her B&B. And she’s a great cook as well. Eggs, bacon, sausage and an apple sauce pancake. I did not have time to enjoy the indoor sauna or hot tub but it looked inviting. Maybe next time.

Great place, we appreciated the good breakfast too. Very convenient to downtown CDA! Restaurants, shops bars all easy walk, as is the lake and the Tubbs Hill hike and beach/lake access.

We stayed for our wedding night. It was lovely! The decor, the ambiance, it was all beautiful! Location was great too as it was walking distance to our venue and celebratory locations after. The staff was super helpful, and truly wanted our stay to be perfect. The ground were beautiful!! And the yard games were a nice touch. I would absolutely stay here again.

The best make-a-memory stay EVER! The beauty of this property is beyond description- the service and breakfast outstanding! The decor is fabulous- you feel like a part of history. The owner will tell you “the story” of this schoolhouse- now an amazing B & B.

Wonderful property. Our room was small but clean and comfortable. The grounds are beautiful as is the entire inn. Very relaxing. We like to spend time outside and you can do that here. Walking distance to water and town. Also breakfast was delicious!

We cannot say enough positive things about the Roosevelt Inn. Staff are wonderful and amazing, as is the proprietor and her beautiful and well-behaved dogs. The garden is lovely. While the rooms are smaller, they are well-appointed and incredibly clean. You are greeted with homemade cookies. The neighbourhood is quiet and we had a great night’s sleep. We felt our vehicle was safe and parking was easy. And the inn is located in a very walkable neighbourhood. We were provided with a warm and hearty breakfast. Juice, milk, coffee, fruit, and continental options were also provided. The other guests with whom we spoke also loved the inn and were incredibly pleased with their stays. All of this was included in the price of the room. No surprises. No amenities fees. We highly recommend and would not hesitate to stay again!

The clerk who checked me in appeared stressed and was not particularly welcoming. The place itself looks a bit worn and could use some TLC. I would not expect an old inn to smell daisy fresh, but my room just smelled really bad! It was quite small and the bed not very comfortable. Shower pressure marginal. One could hear doors open/shut and floorboards creak from the other rooms. Perhaps that’s part of the ‘old Inn’ charm, but past midnight it amounted to little sleep. On a positive note: The room did look clean and the decor was tasteful. All in all disappointing.

Overall, this was a great hotel experience. The staff members were incredibly gracious, conscientious, and helpful. The room itself was lovely. The breakfast was fine. The location is idyllic to the lake and great restaurants. I did struggle when the people above me were loud at 2 a.m. Be warned that this is truly a “house” as opposed to a hotel, and therefore noise travels quite badly. I also didn’t love the fact that there were on-site dogs and that the guests had to help ensure that they didn’t escape through the gate.

Lovely building with unique character and history. Individually decorated rooms were a welcome change from generic hotel rooms. Common areas also decorated with interesting pieces, photos and artwork. Staff were friendly and helpful.

Lovely on the outside and common areas. However, all guests were told to use the backdoor entrance only which was also where our room was unfortunately. There was an event with at least 20 people and other guests who were very noisy, constantly going loudly in and out the back door along with letting their dogs in and out. This went on until after midnight since the hotbtub was also out the back door. Our room door had a gap of about an inch whch made everything even louder. We were not greeted at all. There was no coffee or breakfast at 7 am.only half of an uneaten cake left on the counter from the night before. The bathroon ensuite had no doors only a curtain. This was the worst B&B we have ever had. I would say, though, the owners appeared nice.
