Staff was wonderful!!! Great food and sunset views! Everyone was very friendly and went out of their way for us!!
Highly recommend!!

The included nature reserve for macaws, and the area in general that the resort is situated in with all of its biodiversity was a paradise indeed! The staff was super friendly and helpful, and it was clear that we were welcomed and appreciated. Many of the staff quickly learned Our names and addressed us as such. From the welcome fruit drinks when we got there to A, considerate, packed lunch to go, we got many extras. The food was great as the views from the restaurant and the rooftop. Drinks were also very good. We had our own individual concierge who we texted to arrange , a variety of tours which were universally. Awesome! Also, didn’t hurt that the weather was virtually perfect while we were there.

Great hotel and great service.

Had a great experience at gaia hotel. Lots of activities to do in the area and the staff is great here. Also, the food is amazing at the restaurant in the hotel. Recommend staying here while in Costa Rica.

Our stay at the Gaia was fantastic! As stated by others, the staff is amazing. Our concierge Casey was incredibly helpful, even guiding us with recommendations in other regions after we departed. Johnny was also so wonderful and made one of the best margaritas I’ve ever had. We can’t wait to come back.

Lovely place. The views are excellent. The food is delicious. And the staff is second to none. We were having trouble finding distilled water in town. I reached out, asking if they knew where to get some. The next day they had distilled water for us.

This hotel should get 10 stars! The staff was beyond helpful and I have stayed in many countries and I have to say the pool and grounds were above and beyond my expectations. Staff was so quick. Everything was set up both in the room and outside hotel by staff. Food and drinks also amazing!! I would stay here again!

This beautiful hotel exceed our expectations. Located inside a natural reserve, offers guests a true immersion in Costa Rica’s nature, the most amazing views, excellent service and food.
The staff is extremely friendly and we were pampered during our entire stay. Countless small details made us feel home from the beginning. We were allowed an early check in and also received a room upgrade.
We mostly enjoyed watching the sunset from the swimming pool or the restaurant while enjoying dinner. The tour inside the reserve was also a highlight. The restaurant surprised us every day with delicious dishes. Being vegetarian I had enough options too.
The location allowed to be in few minutes at Manuel Antonio National Park, restaurants, bars and shops.
First time time at the Gaia Hotel, but sure not the last. Totally recommend it.

in all my years of traveling i have never stayed at a hotel that had such good service. it really felt that all the employees only wanted to please the guests in ever way possible

We stayed at Gaia for one night during our trip through Costa Rica. The resort was absolutely stunning. The views of the sunset were some of the best we’ve ever seen. All of the staff were very friendly and accommodating. Our only regret was that we didn’t get to spend more nights there.

Positives: Overall we enjoyed our stay. Cannot say enough nice things about the staff - they were wonderful. The room was also very nice and comfortable. Firm bed. Awesome shower. Golf cart available for transfer up and down the hill. Wonderful hot stone massage.
Negatives: we are vegetarian and although breakfast was amazing (and included), the other meals lacked sufficient options. Pool facilities were older. Limited room on the sun deck.

This was the most beautiful resort I have ever seen. You want a taste of Costa Rica? Stay here. Friendly, helpful and professional people work here and make your stay as comfortable and relaxing as you can imagine. Book your various outings through your own personal concierge and enjoy!

The stuff, the hotel, the spa, the room, the manual Antonio park!!!

I don't recommend this property. The management is kind until you provide constructive criticism. The hotel reception is shabby and outdated. The jungle rooms get little natural light. The property owner accuses anyone who doesn't highly rate his property with five stars of having “outbursts” on another review website. Every single traveler with a critique of his property isn't mentally unbalanced. The hotel arranged transport with a driver who was supposed to be bilingual but didn't speak any English. She showed up late. When I critiqued this, the owner sarcastically said "being met at the plane is a service for diplomats." I'm not ridiculous. I know that my transport cannot meet me at the plane. But it should be on time. At this price point, there are nicer hotels in the Manuel Antonio area.

Hotel rooms are very well decorated and great bed and linen

This hotel had such a nice gesture of a refreshing fruit smoothie upon check in and a welcoming and friendly staff the entire stay. The resort was very thoughtful when we went for excursions and helped us with everything. I am definitely staying here again if I go back to Costa Rica.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Gaia. The property is just beautiful with lush green colors, blooms, and the sound of Macaws flying though the trees. It is set in a very private uphill area, with views of the ocean and mountains. The pool overlooks a similar landscape and you will feel so relaxed and in awe of the beauty. The staff was so polite and friendly. Michael, Nelson, Manefred, Marcos , Gustavo, Abraham, and Clarence made our stay there extra special. Pedro, our taxi driver was also wonderful. Be sure to find a sloth. This was an amazingly relaxing and absolutely enjoyable experience. Thank you to everyone at Gaia for making our visit to Manuel Antonio unforgettable. Pura Vida!

There was a personal touch that came with our stay. Not only did the owner dine in the restaurant every night but, they talked to us like we were friends and not "customers" every time they came into contact with us.
Inwould give this place 6 stars if I could!

I booked to stay at Gaia as it was an adults only hotel! Expecting great customer service based on reviews, the concierge was the worst (head concierge). He was more concerned with my checkout time than actual noticing that I had to switch rooms and had several days left at Gaia. He wanted me to check out, wait several hours and then check back into a new room. Skip this place if you want customer service! The food was good, the place is beautiful, but the service is terrible coming from tulemar and arenas!

This property was stunning! Great views, accommodation, and accessibility.

The hotel is in a very beautiful location. Interesting layout of the room, very high quality and good plumbing
The mattress on the bed was very soft (for me it is uncomfortable)
4.0
Nice property, although we had a couple of hiccups during the stay, mainly related to miscommunication from the front office.

The owner’s (Boris) responsibility and kindness was above and beyond

Nice and clean hotel. Location is somewhat remote, need a car ride everywhere you go. The Macau tour from the Hotel with Juan was excellent.. breakfast serving time is kind of long. You need to take a shuttle from the gate to your room. Spa closed at 5pm, which we feel is too early after activities. Wish it could open later for guests to unwind.

WOW is an understatement. From the minute my teenage girls and I arrived literally everyone treated us like princesses! The staff is WELL trained and waited on us hand and foot, so friendly and accommodating. They all went above and beyond to make us feel comfortable and to have all our desires met. There is a security gate at the entrance with 24 hour surveillance video footage and staffed. The drive up to the resort is steep and they have a golf cart driver always there to take you up and down. They point out wild life along the way. We stayed 6 nights and just on the golf cart transfer up and down the guys helped us spot 2 sloths, monkeys and Scarlet Macaws. We were escorted to the beautiful check in room where we met our personal concierge, Alejandro. They gave us cool wash clothes and fresh juice to refresh. They asked if we had any dietary restrictions and went over a few things about the resort and proceeded with a tour of the pool area (where a friendly swim up bartender gave us a yummy fruit kabob) then we proceeded to our room. Alejandro texted us the activity list and other menus for us to review.
This guy was AMAZING! I have stayed at hundreds of resorts in my life and have never experienced such personal service. He was always quick to respond, booking us reservations at various tours, lined up taxi rides to and from the beach or any other restaurant we wanted to visit. We forgot sunscreen he brought it to us. They food and drinks were delicious! Stay here!!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Gaia. The grounds are beautiful and the staff goes out of its way to be helpful and friendly. Our concierge Alejandro made everything easy for us and was always available. The food was fantastic at La Luna and the happy hour views from the sky lounge were amazing.

Beautiful hotel with friendly staff. Delicious food at the on-site restaurant. Free shuttle to the national park and beach. Clean room with comfortable bed .

Excellent hotel! Service was fantastic and the grounds were beautifully maintained. Definitely would stay again.

We had a wonderful stay at Gaia. The hotel is positioned on a hilltop overlooking the ocean and is on a 12 acre forest reserve. The views are great. We saw as much wildlife at the hotel as we did in our guided rainforest trips. The restaurant at the hotel serves fresh, delicious food. They have a shuttle that runs down the the beach, allowing beach access but opportunities to retreat to a more exclusive hotel away from the noise around the beach. Their service team is always available to ensure your stay is perfect.

Great stay!

Great location, on a 13 acre reserve with a complementary tour with a guide. Our room was amazing, two stories with our own semi-private pool. The food was incredible, surf and turf and seafood pasta was to die for

The restaurant had a stunning view with some tasty food. I just can't love this hotel because we had several really big roaches in our room at night which kinda ruined the experience for me.

the staff was friendly and bent over backwards to ensure guests were taken care of and had their needs met; all while being easy to talk with. We enjoyed the conversations with staff. Eduardo and Johny, and another young bartender were the best. The grounds were Extremely clean and beautifully, naturally landscaped, you felt like you were in the middle of the tropical forest with the Macaws and sloths on sight. The room was huge, comfortable, and the pools were amazing and private. The breakfast was good as was the dinner. The owner treats his staff well and he is a good steward of the land.

The views and rain forest environment were spectacular. Our suite was spacious, private, clean and serviced three times daily. Restaurant and bar staff were friendly, efficient snd all spoke excellent English. Can't wait to return.

This was our second stay here and we hope to return again! It is amazing and cannot be faulted anywhere. All facilities are top quality and all staff go out of their way to make you feel valued. The shuttle bus to the beach and national park is a real bonus and essential if you don’t have a car. Walter very kindly dropped us off at a restyle wanted to try and picked us up there on his return journey. Food in the restaurant is excellent and views from there and the new rooftop bar are stunning.
2.0
Yes, maybe the hotel is not hipster/instagrammable and not the newest building. However, it has by far the best service one could imagine. It starts with the drivers on the property or to the beach/national park, continues with the concierge (who recommended restaurants and took care of all the reservations), to the restaurant and pool bar staff. Super friendly, helpful and considerate!
2.0
This is a nice hotels with beautiful pools and amazing location inside jungle. The service was fabulous throughout our stay, very attentive. The rooms are very large! We had balcone as well very spatious rooftop for sunbathing.
Another cool thing was that they keep their own parrots and you can see them fly across quite often.
There are some details that make me rate is 4 starts, not 5. The food for lunch amd dinner is hit or miss. Recomned tuna mains and salad, quesadillas and tuna andangp wrap. Calamari salad was disgusting, chef should check the temperature pf tempura oil, when it is not hot enough food comes out increadibly oily.
1. The hotel is pld and need refunbishing. Furniture must be changed, it is just too old, giving this expensive hotel a cheap look.
2. Breakfast is not a buffet and they are super tight on included options. For example for eggs royale or fritatta you have to pay extra $10. It is just simply stinginess. When I pay over £300 for a night at a 5* hotel with breakfast included this I am expecting a quality breakfast.
3. $60 for 30 mins in Sauna. This is just lame charging that much, feels like total rip off.
Overall, I would say this is a 4* hotel not 5*. There is a big room for improvement facility vise, but service is good. Sauna must be free and breakfast menu with charges has to be revised.
