Great hotel in safe area with easy access to everything. Amazing breakfast, great staff-didn't even charge me for the first night (even though I didn't ask-assumed I'd have to pay) because we were stuck overnight in Miami due to storms, so missed a day at Riu. Super impressed and grateful. Very clean, wait staff in breakfast area were very attentive, as were everyone around the pool and bar area. Would totally stay here again. We loved it.

This hotel needs TLC ,AC had better days,from cracked lamps ,ceiling light falling etc. Buffet style breakfast..A+ Elias excellent customer service,made us feel welcome as soon as We got to check in to our room. Buffet servers and housekeeping was excellent service.

I have stayed at the Rui previous to this with no complaints. They started doing construction on the penthouse above my room. It was very loud and I could not have my zoom business meetings in the comfort of my room.

The hotel was nice and clean and had a decent location to walk to restaurants, convenient stores, and liquor stores. Staff was all very nice and helpful. Pool is wonderful. The breakfast exceeded all expectations and was delicious.

The hotel is amazing and the staff is nice. Breaksfast, room and bar/restaurant are great. Just the smell of the carpets makes it a little bit disconfort, specially for me with some breathing issues.

We’ve stayed at the Hotel Riu in Panama City several times and have enjoyed our stay every time. The location in the center of the city is very convenient for shopping, eating, and clubbing. Rooms are clean and comfortable. We will certainly be back.

Great service, food from breakfast to the hotel restaurant was good too. Only complaint is the size of the pool. It’s not big enough to accommodate hotel size.

The hotel is very clean. The food was delicious from morning breakfast to eating poolside. The staff was courteous and waiting to cater to your every need! I just wish there were fun activities offered for the guests by the pool. A DJ every day by the pool.

The hotel was nice and very clean. My negatives are the service and food. My friend nor myself could get waited. We were at the pool for 2 days and both day we waited and waited for everything or just to be acknowledged.

The hotel staff were so helpful and accommodating. I received the best reception check-in anywhere in the world. Lady at reception called Laura was most helpful and went above and beyond to let me check-in early and get me a nice room. I was so impressed. The pool staff were great and made sure you were well looked after for drinks. I found the restaurant outside had slower service and the food portions for salad were tiny! Unfortunately I had an issue with my room, my toilet did not flush and it took a very long time to get fixed. I had to go to reception a couple of times, it was looked at but not fixed and nobody knew anything about it when I went back the second time, this was quite a let down. Eventually it was fixed but was disappointed this had happened in the first place. Overall loved this hotel but way too many screaming kids splashing in the pool. It was very much appreciated that the staff at the hotel recognised this and quietly spoke with the kids on a couple of occasions, I liked that. Next I will look at adult only options. Highly recommend this hotel for its service and perfect location.

Nice location in downtown area. Morning breakfast is extremely busy, and the rooms are a little dated. Shower was difficult to enter and exit. Front lobby staff was very friendly and efficient.

I absolutely enjoyed my stay at this hotel. The staff were friendly and attentive, the room was very clean and spacious, the inclusive breakfast was a good variety of options to choose from, and the pool area was open late so I was able to relax and order food & drinks some evenings. Overall I loved the service and ambience so I would definitely stay here again.

I have stayed there twice before, it was all Great. This time they could not find my reservation took the front desk half an hour. Service to my room was VERY SLOW. Had to order ice twice on both occasions it took over two hours to get there.

Huge hotel, we stayed in one of the suites. OK value for money, but the hotel has no personality, is quite outdated and rough around the edges. I would not say that this is a 5 star hotel. Unfortunately we got food poisoning after eating in the hotel café on the ground floor right after we checked in. After that, we spent 48 hours inside our room, too sick to leave. We notified the staff several times about our situation, but they seemed unbothered about the fact that their food had made us really sick. In general, the hotel staff were quite unfriendly during our staff, including the interactions with room service employees to the receptionists and bell boys. When we checked out, the only thing our receptionist said to us was "That's it". That pretty much sums up the level of friendliness at this hotel. There are plenty of good 5 star hotels in Panama city with great customer service. For example Bristol, where we also stayed during the same trip. Would not recommend staying at Riu Plaza.

The RIU Hotel has a superior service. I could extend my stay at night and they let me sleep. The checkout I slept until 15:00 and they did not disturb me, I paid only 33$ for late fee. The rooms are nice and the view is amazing, tho you cannot see much from the ocean.

Did not like the policy that guests could NOT come up the room and if they did there was a ridiculous $80 charge. I will never stay at any Riu Hotel in the future.

The only problem we found is thin walls. You can heard noises from other rooms! But I think is the way the hotel was build. Hotel has good location. Daily housekeeping services in rooms. Breakfast is included.
