It was a lovely last minute stay in the center of everything. Beautiful view of the Zocalo. The buffet breakfast was decent, the 24 hour cafe was amazing. They provided free water and apples on each floor. The rooms were on the smaller side for 4 people, but the hot showers made up for it. Also getting an Uber was tricky at times because of the protests. My family felt safe the entire time, lots of police presence. Would definitely come back.

100% worth the price. The beds were clean and comfortable, showers and bathrooms clean. But THE SERVICE wow!!! 100/10 everyone treats you so good and anything you need they are ready to help!

We loved our 4 days in Mexico City at the Zocalo Central. This hotel is perfectly situated with just a few steps to the Zocalo and Cathedral. Walking distance to The Palacio de las Bellas Artes while roaming through the historic neighborhood with amazing buildings. The hotel breakfast is wonderful in a beautiful setting with amazing views. The cafe open 24 hours is also a wonderful amenity. Great hotel!

Location is great and included parking. Staff is wonderful. We felt safe the entire time.
Room was just OK, a bit tired. Mattress was very weak—especially on the edge of the bed.
Bathroom was also a bit tired but OK. Crazy high water pressure in shower—which was cool but could not be reduced.
AC in the room was effective, thankfully, because it was very hot during our visit.
Breakfast on rooftop was special—unique.

A beautiful hotel with very friendly staff. The location was right beside the Metropolitan Cathedral in the historic centre so walkable to all the must-see sights. Free flow bottled water and a 24 hr cafe serving free sandwiches, soups, fruits and drinks was an added bonus. The buffet breakfast was served in the rooftop restaurant with a view of the main square and cathedral. I would recommend the Zocalo to anyone visiting Mexico City.

Great place to stay, safe as well. Also, breakfast is included (buffet style) and it's so good. I highly recommend Zocalo Central.

The location of the hotel is very central and the communal areas are very nice. We arrived 1hr earlier than check-in after a very early start and was surprised to be told we would have to wait until 3pm to check in. We were told there was not one clean room in the hotel. All we wanted to do was relax so this was very disappointing. The room itself was clean and comfortable with some nice little extras. The room was nice but could do with a little refresh to match the quality of the communal areas. We booked the hotel for the rooftop but were told the restaurant was fully booked which was a disappointment.

The service, value and location of this hotel have surpassed expectation. We love the staff and their knowledgeable service. Everyone was super friendly and helpful. We will stay here on every trip to the area. The breakfast is lovely and the cafe in the lobby is a great touch.

Beautiful! The included breakfast on the Rooftop was incredible. The staff was so helpful and courteous. Steps from the main square.

Zócalo Central is spectacular in every way. The service, ambiance, amenities, and comfort are excellent.
Our cozy room had a nice bed and a refreshing shower with plenty of pressure and good-quality shampoo, conditioner, etc. There was no refrigerator in the room, but there was one at the end of the hall by the elevators stocked with cold water bottles for guests.
Of all of the wonderful features of this hotel, one of the best is El Balcón, the dining room on the 5th floor with breathtaking views of the cathedral and zócalo. A generous breakfast buffet is offered (included in the room price) or you can order dishes made fresh. Don't miss the chocolate croissants! Also, the lobby is gorgeous and includes a small cafe where guests can enjoy free soft drinks, beer and snacks 24/7.
The hotel is ideally located within walking distance of many cultural offerings, shops, restaurants and other things to do. It's inexpensive and easy to Uber to other neighborhoods like Coyoacán, Polanco, and Roma Norte.
The staff here is exemplary. They are always smiling and happy to answer questions or help with any request. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay and highly recommend this hotel.

Everything about this hotel was extraordinary. The amenities were among the finest we have ever experienced. The view from our window overlooking the Zocalo was magical. The location was perfect for our purposes of historical exploration and food sampling. The hotel staff and service was beyond excellent. Everything was designed for the comfort of guests and the enrichment of the visitor experience. We will surely return!

Beautiful property. Onsite free cafe and free daily breakfast were very convenient. Easy to walk to several dining options around the hotel. We would definitely highly recommend this hotel and would stay here again in a heartbeat! (Thank you Raul for all of your recommendations!)

Overall, a very nice hotel, friendly and helpful staff, in the history district
6.0
The hotel was generally pretty nice, but there were a couple of significant issues. Firstly, the hotel smelled strongly of drains--they try to cover this up with perfume which only makes things worse. Second issue was worse... We arrived on International women's day and there was an INSANE parade/protest happening directly outside the hotel. It's difficult to explain exactly what we encountered. 10s of thousands of women shoulder to shoulder chanting and yelling. This protest has a history of violence. For this reason all of the street was boarded up with metal barricades. When we got there we thought the hotel didn't exist as there was no sign of it. We were caught in the middle of this enormous crowd. Several women warned me that as a man I wasn't safe there. The next thing we know a gang of sledgehammer wielding anarchist women dressed like ninjas were charging through the crowd, literally sledgehammering sheet rock off the buildings and smashing the metal barricades. It was total madness. By some miracle, we happened to be standing in a certain place when a small metal door maybe 5 foot by 3 foot opened a few meters away from us in one of the barricades and we noticed a couple of non-mexican looking people were ushered inside. It was the entrance to the hotel! We had to knock on the door and yell through the barricade to try to be allowed entrance. The hotel made zero effort to alert us to any of this beforehand--totally unforgivable and legitimately dangerous.

Property is amazing, walking distance from everything, taxis always ready at the front door as well, and best of all was the amazing breakfast and cafe (free 24/7) with delicious unlimited soups, salads, sandwiches, and drinks! Will definitely return!!!

The property overlooks the Zocalo. This would be a terrific location but our visit was disrupted by several protests one of which was a major disruption. I would stay here again but I would check to see if a protest this big was planned. We found out the evening before and could have made better arrangements if we had known sooner. Otherwise, the friendly staff and many amenities made this a fantastic stay.

Seriously what an amazing hotel, couldn’t have a more friendly staff!! Everything is impecable, and you can’t beat the location. The cherry on top in the restaurant, with breakfast Included that was so good! And the dinner was amazing!! I would definitely come back here on my next visit!

Absolutely the best hotel we've ever stayed at! Wonderful staff and the most fantastic location. The cafe being free was a real lifesaver for some late nights, don't sleep on it!
The free breakfast on the balcony is a great way to start your day in such a beautiful city.

Beside being in an amazing location, the hotel itself was excellently conditioned. Rooms were spacious with crafty furnitures. Facilities were awesome. There is a fine dine restaurant (expensive) with beautiful views, a 24/7 cafe, where food and drinks were free for customers, and a wholesome breakfast buffet. Although if you are staying for more than 2 nights, the breakfast buffet might get monotonous as the menu is exactly same every day. There is refrigerator in every floor with water bottles available, so you dont need to call room service frequently. If you want to tour the city in the hop-in hop off buses, the terminal is right below on the street. Overall great stay.

It's a great place to stay, however the unpredictability of protests in the Central needs to be researched when you go. We had a couple members of our party not do well due to altitude and the polution from the Volcano while we were there, then we were in a position where we could not rest between activities due to a Women's Day protest, so we left a day early and moved across town. ANY hotel in the Centro Historico was under extreme security that day, it was in no way a problem caused by the hotel. I will come back, and highly recommend getting reservations in advance for the Rooftop Dinner. The food is AMAZING, too.

I had an unpleasant experience. They tried multiple time to charge me extra fees. Never have I had this experience before.

Most hotels in this price range will have comfortable beds, clean rooms, excellent staff, etc so I will focus on what they do differently. First off, they are located right off of constitution square and the central city cathedral (the view from the restaurant on the roof is amazing). The one thing that I have never seen anywhere else is that they have a cafe with complimentary food and drinks. And I’m not talking a bowl of pretzels and urn of coffee. It’s salads, sandwiches, etc plus various coffees, teas, sodas, AND beer and wine (I’m not positive whether there’s an extra charge for liquor). It’s so nice after a long day sightseeing to be able to relax at your hotel with a cold beer and a sandwich without spending any more than a tip. I would say that this was the best overall hotel experience that my wife and I have had in 25 years together. Just a great place.

The hotel has great service and is close to many historic areas. Just know the rooms are small.

Beautiful location right at the Zocalo Square. A few minutes walk to the Cathedral, the Templo Major excavations and other interesting sights. 15 minutes walk to Palacio de Bellas Artes.
We had a beautiful breakfast (included) at the rooftop restaurant with view over the cathedral and Zocalo. The hotel has a comfortable relaxed atmosphere, the staff are very friendly and helpful.
I would definitely recommend it, specially to people interested in history and tasteful local atmosphere.

I can’t say enough great things about this hotel. It is absolutely exceptional on all levels. I’ve travelled extensively and this hotel is incredible.

Lovely property in a great location, looking onto the Plaza Mayor. The problem seems to be a misfit between the quality of the surroundings and the training of the staff.

My wife and I had the pleasure of staying five nights at Zocalo Central. It was one of the best if not the best hotel experiences we have had. The whole staff has been so friendly and welcoming towards us.
Next to the reception they have a small café area where you can get coffee, soft drinks, snacks or small sandwiches. Everything was included in the room price so no extra charges for any of it. Also: it was open 24h so when you arrive with jet lag that is something you appreciate. The breakfast was enjoyed at their rooftop restaurant and was a great mix between Mexican and continental and there was something for everybody.
Overall we can only recommend this hotel to anyone and everyone that is visiting Mexico City.
Oh and one very important thing - they make sure you have plenty of bottled water, there’s fridges with it on every floor.
3.0
The hotel is located in the centre of the historic area making it very easy to visit the tourist sites.
The staff are extremely friendly and helpful (although service at breakfast can sometimes be a little slow but there's no rush)
Comfortable room (although limited view due to a small window) and very comfortable large bed.
The hotel offers the benefit of free beers coffee and snacks 24 hours for guests from their cafe which was a great bonus and also a free walking tour of the centre, which we really enjoyed.
Never tried the restaurant other than breakfast but has great views into the square so can't comment on the dinner options. There was plenty of choice at breakfast and the quality excellent although the buffet hot dishes could be hotter!
All in all a very enjoyable stay.
8.0
Beautiful hotel, well located in the historic center. Fantastic rooftop restaurant with stunning views of Plaza de la Constitución (Zócalo) and the city, very good breakfasts. Friendly and helpful staff. Our only disappointment was the room. We asked to be changed of the first room that was assigned to us as it was very small with a window on the inside of the hotel. The second room was still small but a little less than the first one, with a window on the street, which was very noisy in the middle of the night (some kind of trucks or machines cleaning sewers or something, right under or window every night/early morning). Bad sleep. This was unfortunate as everything else was perfect.
