Having stayed at many Times Square area hotels, I would put the Luma near the top. Great staff, clean rooms and reasonably quick elevators. Having two king beds is a rarity and mad a second room for the kids unnecessary. The staff was first rate. Pleasant, helpful and quick to remember us and greet us a returning guests. Never felt like a number. Only negative is the lack of self-service ice anywhere in the hotel. Probably ended up tipping $40 for the week having ice delivered to the room a couple times a day.

I chose this hotel for the king sized beds which was hard to find in the city. The were comfy and the room was fine, small, but not a problem considering we weren't planning on spending much time there. The only real problem was that the room was in a "dead" space and our phones would not work without using the hotels wi-fi which was not password protected.

Some initial confusion over our room type and room request. Also some misrepresentation about services promised like private car service that did not come through. Overall a pleasant stay but definitely some room for improvement on communication

Yamil and Gus were the friendliest and most helpful doormen. They always asked about our day and what we did. They readily offered up restaurant suggestions. Alyssa, Deborah, and Heidy made sure we had everything we needed. We went to NYC for our 30th wedding anniversary and they had a bottle of wine waiting for us in our room. The hotel was well maintained and clean and we loved that we were just outside of the busy Time Square area but close enough to be able to walk to most attractions. The rooms were above and beyond what we expected. We will definitely be back to Luma for our next trip to NYC!

I would have rated Luma 5 stars, but unfortunately there was an issue with the heat not working in our room on our second/last night of stay. Staff offered extra blankets, we didn’t want to argue with the hotel since we were leaving in the morning.

We really enjoyed our stay here. All the staff was friendly and attentive. The bar and restaurant were nice. It's in a great location close to theaters and other sites. I would definitely stay here again.

It’s a little pricey probably because of location which is very central to walking around Broadway and Times Square. Rooms are tiny. Bathrooms are very well done. Being on the 27th floor was cool but we looked into a cove of other buildings so couldn’t see anything.

Great choice for the area. Clean overall. Nice to have queen beds which is not easy to find in the city. Every person at the hotel was very nice polite and helpful. Great location walkable to multiple sights and transportation options with even Whole Foods around the corner. We had interior courtyard rooms and heard no city noise at all - a first in a big city. But you pay for it, this is not the cheapest hotel (although far from the most expensive either). For us it was worth it. There were a few minor issues and things we did not like about the room so I hesitated about the 5 stars but I believe for NYC we still had an overall great stay and would recommend if you can afford it.

Our first trip to NYC and we couldn’t have stayed at a better place. Great location near the hustle bustle, but once back inside the hotel it was so quiet and had an intimate feel. Staff were friendly and helpful, bar was great! The room was perfect for the two of us and the housekeeping was superb. We will be back, thank you LUMA!

This was a great property close to all the action in Times Square, an easy 5 minute walk away. We were almost on the top floor in a great room with 2 king beds!!! There was no view but we booked knowing this. The room was so quiet, you never would have known NYC was just outside. We had the best sleeps. The rooms were well appointed with lots of cool touches like a white noise machine. The staff were lovely but the doorman Rocsteve was the absolute best. So helpful and super friendly every time. Lots of good food and shopping right at the door. Close to Bryant Park and the tube stations.

The location—right beside Bryant Park—could not have been better for us. Visiting NYC the week before Christmas proved to be a bit more hectic than even we had anticipated—however LUMA provided a warm and soothing oasis in the middle of a cold, blustery storm. I will never forget the reception the restaurant gave us one particularly cold night, as we dragged ourselves inside after a day of fighting through crowds and chaos. Having struck out on our other dinner reservations, we returned bedraggled and defeated—our sole remaining option being the restaurant at the hotel. That meal ended up being our best and most memorable one—with great food and a genuinely warm and welcoming environment! My 8-year old son, who has a palate that belies his years, still talks about that meal and it was one of his favorite memories from a trip that included Lion King tickets and a view from the Top of the Rock….

Excellent sound proofing in rooms. Delicious sour dough and bacon for breakfast. I had a bath (!) but it and the bath towels were small. Otherwise super hotel.

Great location, near all the main attractions. Friendly, helpful hotel staff. Rooms had all modern amenities, including a reasonable size fridge to store drinks. We had a room with a great view of surrounding area. Will certainly come back next time we're in New York City.

The hotel was super clean and didn’t hear any street noise whatsoever. GREAT location to many attractions. My friends and I came in early to catch a 11am show at Radio City and they kept our bags free of charge since our rooms weren’t supposed to be ready until that afternoon. Great experience.

Absolutely loved our stay at this boutique hotel. The staff were absolutely wonderful and made our trip a great experience. Property was great and in an excellent location right near both Bryant Park and Times Square. Rooms were lovely and well equipped with a very comfortable bed. Highly recommend this property.

The hotel is amazing: the staff is super-helpful and personable, the rooms are a nice size and very clean, with all the in-room amenities that one needs. We had an “interior” view but there’s so much else to see in NYC we were hardly there except to sleep and shower and hang a bit. It is central to so many experiences which are walkable, and walk we did! We also caught the bus, took the subway and cabs and all were close by. Fantastic stay, would definitely book here again!

Great property. Rooms are super clean and lovely. Staff is amazing and polite. Dirty outside hotel due to Times square trash. Lobby isn’t the nicest but rooms are top notch!!

Not only was the hotel room IMMACULATE and supplied with any/every amenity we would need, the staff was above and beyond the best. Debra was top tier customer service ensuring us a perfect stay from the beginning making sure we always had whatever we needed. We were steps away from Bryant park and Debra made sure our car was safely valeted. We will absolutely stay at LUME again!
