There is a large open concept living, kitchen and dining room with vaulted ceilings all flowing to the outdoor dining area and lounging areas. FAMILY FRIENDLY - pack -n-play, toys, beach toys, boogies boards, beach chairs, linens and beach towels, board games, puzzles, and books a a great outdoor shower. TOURING THE ISLAND - There is 1x 6-person golf cart, and 1x 4-person golf cart, 3 Adult bicycles* and 1 child bike for riding around the island, 6 beach chairs, boogie boards and an abundance of beach toys, and an umbrella. Please bring your own helmets. A very short cart ride takes you to the new BHI Club Aquatic Center which features 4 new tennis courts, a playground, short-grass recreational area, workout facility, multiple swimming pools and water slide, croquet course, casual and fine dining and, of course, the George Cobb designed, award winning 18-hole golf course. 'Playing the BHI Club course, you will fall in love with the beauty of the island as you weave your way through around 15 freshwater lagoons, through a maritime forest. Bald Head Island is only accessible by boat or by a ferry, which departs frequently out of Southport, NC. Southport is 40 minutes from the Wilmington, NC (ILM) airport. A tram ride to the villa is included with your ferry ticket. Reservations are required. Visitors and residents travel around the island by golf cart, bike or by foot. We have a professional property manager who lives full time on the island to make your stay as enjoyable as possible. They will be able to help with any concerns once you arrive. Climb to the top of “Old Baldy,” which is the oldest lighthouse on the East coast. It was built in 1817 and originally commissioned by Thomas Jefferson. Hike and wind your way around live oaks hundreds of years old and through the nature paths that Revolutionary and Civil War soldiers used in the ancient Maritime Forest. An upscale grocery market, spa, and shopping area is a short golf cart ride away. Discover the Bald Head Island Conservancy at the end of South Beach, where you can learn about the island’s wildlife. Sign up for classes, including the popular evening “turtle walks” to search for and observe nesting Loggerhead Turtles and if your timing is right even watch their hatchlings heading to the ocean for the first time! Bald Head Island is on one of North Carolina's southernmost cape islands - Cape Fear. With no cars and no crowds, Bald Head Island preserves the natural beauty and stress-free lifestyle of a simpler time. The island is blessed with 14 miles of pristine beaches, thousands of acres of protected salt marshes, and a spectacular expanse of maritime forest. *Club memberships are optional and subject to availability. A superior experience on every level! Sweet Caroline had everything we needed for our three small grandchildren (the child gate was a welcome surprise!); they even had a large dog crate (we had brought our own, never expecting that thoughtful addition!) The kitchen was well appointed with top quality pans, appliances, etc and plenty of everything needed for cooking in. When we had a password issue on one of the tv’s, Tyler was easy to reach and promptly came out to assess and correct the problem. Before the trip, all necessary info for ferry, tram and stay was sent to us in plenty of time to assimilate and ask any questions in a timely manner. Can’t say enough about the positives! Thank you so much to the owners of Sweet Caroline for allowing us to stay in their lovely home: we will be back again next year with our family for sure!

Everything was as expected and as described on the site. The walk to the beach was about 2 minutes and easy with children. The owner/manager was very responsive and helpful. The house is well equipped with kitchen items, beach items, bikes and lots of needed baby supplies. The living space is bright and comfortable. Sweet Caroline is at the top of our list for favorite houses we have rented on the island. Would rent again.

Well stocked and well organized. Easy to find everything. Games and toys for kids and really nice layout of the house. Hot tub set up on the screened in porch is super nice. Plenty of beach items we didn’t have to bring anything extra. Really enjoyed our stay.

We had a wonderful time staying at Sweet Caroline. The property manager was outstanding to work with. The house has a well stocked kitchen. The rest of the house had all of the amenities a large family would need, lots of sand toys and the golf carts were reliable. The hot tub was terrific~specially on the rainy day we had. We will definitely be back!

We couldn’t be happier with our stay on Bald Head Island! We absolutely fell in love with that little slice of heaven! Kim was a wonderful host, and this was truly the cleanest beach house we have ever stayed in! Minutes to the beach, easy golf cart ride to anything on the island. Adored visiting the Turtle Conservancy (become members) and the late night Turtle Walk was the experience of a lifetime - and my teen boys said it would have been worth it for the late night walk on the beach and star gazing even if we didn’t see a mama turtle!

We loved our stay at Sweet Caroline! Kim was so helpful and thoughtful leading up to and throughout our stay! The house is beautiful, updated, clean and great for a group! The kids loved the bunk room. Three 4-seater golf carts was super convenient. Lots of toys and chairs in the garage. The very nearby beach access is one of our favorites on BHI! We loved all the porches, especially the screened in porch for watching the sunsets in the evenings. Didn’t get a chance to try the hot tub. Lots of construction going on nearby in June 2022, but only really could hear it when outside/on porches. Would happily stay here again if we have the opportunity!

Beautiful home, well appointed and great location. It is clear that the owners take pride in their property. The house is extremely kid friendly and is very well stocked with all we needed. Great kitchen for us as we love to cook. Very comfortable bed rooms, great hot tub and the AC worked great as well. The porches became our favorite hangout spots and the views of the night sky are incredible. Cant wait to return!

We love Sweet Caroline!! This was our second year renting this house and will be back next summer as well! Great owner and very responsive property manager. The house is in fantastic condition and very clean. Any issues are taken care of in a timely manner. Fantastic location just steps to South Beach, short drive to East Beach, the market, and BHI club. You will love this house!

Kim's property is fantastic. It's in a great location on south beach with nice views, ocean breezes, and very easy access to the beach. The house was beautiful and comfortable - very clean and exactly as the listing describes. It was well appointed with many new and interesting books, games, kitchen supplies, etc... We especially enjoyed the poker chips and played family poker games many nights. Kim's golf carts and bikes were well maintained and great to explore the island. The best thing I can say is that Kim has thought of everything. Her preparation made our trip very enjoyable and relaxing. Kim was also great to communicate with -- check in and check out were a breeze.

It was a beautiful home that is clean, well appointed, and has views of the ocean. The owners went above and beyond leaving us a gift bag, gift cards to local stores, and checked in multiple times to see if we needed anything. You can’t go wrong with Sweet Caroline.

We were especially pleased to stay in this spectacular home. The layout was perfect for out family. The home was just that comfortable and cozy with great outdoor spaces as well. The attention to detail and the amenities we for us to enjoy are worth mentioning as every need of ours met!!! The kitchen is particularly noteworthy as well and it was easy to prepare out Thanksgiving meal. Kim was beyond a wonderful host and so very responsive to our inquiries and anticipating our meeds!!!

We have been visiting BHI over the past 12 years, and this home stands out as one of the best we’ve rented! Kim was so incredibly helpful, and the home is even better than pictured. It is such a comfortable place with great water views! I loved sitting on the deck with my morning coffee and again at night with a glass of wine listening to the ocean. The home is so well appointed and made cooking in easy. My daughter loved the crafts and the quick walk over to the beach. We couldn’t have asked for a better experience and can’t wait to return!
