The breakfast is good and the gardens and property are well kept.
The location and lack of transport options (particularly if there is a bus disruption) should be a large consideration. The lighting inside was quite poor and there are very limited dinner options nearby.

It is not often you can say you have been part of a bit of history but with this villa you can. It has been in the owners' family for generations and Allesandro was very generous with his time telling us the story of the villa and how it came to be in his family, how his family rose to prominence in the 13th century and tales from the more recent past. The property is old, historic but with modern comforts. I liked the fact you could get a drink there and there was an honesty box to pay. Although, the wine only came as bottles, which was much too much for us as a couple, the night before we were due to come home. It was a shame it was a flying visit, I would have loved to have stayed another few nights.
The stairs to the room were precarious and it was difficult to haul our cases up. Allessandro helped but was not available the next morning. This isn't a problem but just something to be aware of. It is the price to pay for staying in an historic villa.

We stayed for 4 nights (2 adults, 2 kids). The location is a bit remote and the road gets quite narrow towards the end, but it isn't too difficult to find and the view is worth it.
Breakfast was very nice, it included almost everything you need, including their own homemade olive oil. The only thing my wife was missing were scrambled eggs, but other than that, it was great.
The villa itself has some historic significance and it still belongs to the Rucellai family, which just adds to the prestige. Altogether we had a great time here and would recommend it to anyone.
There is a train track nearby and some light sleepers might not like that, but we didn't hear the train at all during the night.
