Amid Hotel is a very clean, convenient and affordable property situated in Insadong with easy access to busses, subways, cafes, restaurants, etc. There’s a small supermarket directly next door as well as a convenience store. There’s a buffet breakfast offered in the hotel as well as a coffee shop by the lobby. In terms of facilities, there is a laundromat in the basement and a small gym. Our room was cleaned early in the morning each day, so it was welcoming to return to after a long day out.
I felt the staff could be friendlier. They were always accommodating but lacked enthusiasm. Their directions were never clear nor specific enough. For foreigners we don’t want to waste our time getting lost in the sweltering heat of summer. Tourists are always demanding, so it is understandable for hotel staff to feel overworked. Maybe hiring a separate concierge with excellent English skills would be beneficial.

I stayed in this hotel while recovering from dental surgery. It didn't have a lot of frills but it did the essentials well. The room was very comfortable and well equipped. The cleaning staff were friendly and helpful and kept me well stocked with water. Plenty of outlets in convenient locations and a mini fridge available for use. The location in Insadong was also excellent with lots of great restaurants and shops and also being in walking distance of Myeong-dong and Hanok Village. I definitely plan to stay here again when I return to Seoul.
Only little nits. Sometimes I would press the button for the elevator and if it went to the basement first it would turn off my call button. If I didn't notice it before it passed me I'd have a bit of a wait. Also many people headed to the basement would jump on the elevator when it's supposed to be reserved for guests on the upper floors. I think the signage could be better.
