Location, location, location! Quiet area but in the middle of the historic centre with all the palaces in reach. Next to subway and close to large area with restaurants, bars and arcades, etc.

Location was great. The free yonaki soba at night was also a really good touch. Breakfast was high quality but limited options. I liked the welcome drink machine.
The inn had nothing extra - no extra blankets or mosquito repellent. I got bit multiple times and the front desk only apologized and gave me a spray (that can't be used in a closed room at night). We had to wait to get bit even more before we could kill the mosquito. Rooms were so tiny we couldn't open our suitcases. The water flow was also inconsistent to where it would suddenly stop in the middle of a shower.

Stuff was nice. Good accommodations like welcome drink, late night ramen service, sauna and bath in the basement and free ice cream bar. I felt welcome to stay there.

The location was good and very friendly staff. The onsen was the highlight of the hotel and that was why we booked it .
A very uncomfortable bed, and no space to move in the room. The breakfast room was dull, badly lit and depressing to be in so we generally avoided it. Didn't like everyone in there in pajamas' either. Breakfast was the poorest of our trip. Lacking in taste more than anything.
Out of your control but were disappointed that children were swimming in the onsen and there were a lot of very noisy guests which ruined the experience.
