About this villa rental

Please note: This villa is located in Cap Estate in the quarter of Gros Islet NOT in Gros Islet town as the marker for VRBO suggests!! Cap Estate is a quiet, upscale area at the northern point of Saint Lucia with beautiful houses and amazing views. “In Xanadu did Kubla Khan a stately pleasure dome decree…..” Samuel Coleridge 1797
The unique and magnificent design of Villa Xanadu St Lucia was inspired by the famous domed City of pleasure called Xanadu created by the Mongol ruler Kubla Khan in China during the 12th century. Standing proudly on a sea facing hillside for many years it is still as fresh and interesting today and has recently undergone an extensive renovation whilst preserving the character of this tasteful and fascinating study in concrete and stonework engineering. The domes of the villa dominate the hillside on St Lucia’s northern tip in the exclusive residential area of the old sugar plantation of Cap Estate.

In good visibility the nearby larger Island of Martinique is clearly seen to the north and this makes an impressive backdrop to the Caribbean sea view both during the day and at night.

The high south west facing terraces of Villa Xanadu St Lucia provide beautiful views of nearby Pigeon Island and St Lucia’s Caribbean coastline and and is the perfect place to enjoy a sundowner while watching the setting sun. These Caribbean sunsets are famous for their beauty and you may even witness the elusive green flash when the sky is clear. The Villa is surrounded by nearly two acres of gardens that slope gently away from the house and are home to coconut palms and tropical plants.

Nearby is St Lucia’s Golf Resort and Country Club. This is a challenging and enjoyable 18 hole par 71 golf course.

There are nearby beautiful white sand beaches catering for all manner of water sports including safe swimming and snorkeling, scuba diving, hobby cat sailing, water skiing, para gliding and wind surfing.

Sports fishing and deep sea fishing enthusiasts will soon find what they want.

When the present owners bought Villa Xanadu St Lucia for them it was love at first sight. They were captivated by the elevated position and the 270 degree views of the ocean and coastline. The gentle sea breezes temper the tropical heat and make relaxing by the poolside a real pleasure. The pool extends into the domed living area and has its own bar stools in the water to enjoy that rum punch or local fruit juice.

My husband, our two college kids, and I thoroughly enjoyed our relaxing stay at this beautiful home! The layout is very unique. Each bedroom has it's own entrance, all surrounding the pool which opens right into the main living area. Every area faces the water and overlooks Pigeon Island. Perfect for watching the sunset. You can see cruise ships, sailboats, and Martinique daily. FYI 2 of the bedrooms and the main living area have all been completely remodeled. The master bedroom is next! The host, Kris, was the most attentive and friendly host we have ever encountered in a VRBO rental. She made sure every little detail was attended to, she takes excellent care of the property, and is just a willing resource for all things St. Lucia. Viola came to clean the house a few days during our stay. The area is peaceful and quiet, with the exception of neighbor's barking dogs. Would definitely recommend this property for a carefree vacation and great location.
