Reos Hotel Wangen

We loved the modern interior design, overall cleanliness and friendly staff (especially the lady at the reception desk deserves a huge recognition - she was exceptionally empathic). Also WiFi was working well (what is not that obvious in German hotels). The dinner food selection at the restaurant was pretty good and of decent quality - although rather basic, there was something for every taste, if one does not have too high expectations.

Here we need to underline, that this review was made from the perspective of a family in a long-road travel, looking for a layover (so a good rest before the next milestone is a must). From this perspective, the hotel was rather disappointing experience: there was a big open-air festive or a techno-party just meters away - very loud hard-beat preventing any sleep before midnight or longer. This place is not quiet at all. I don't know if the parties are regular or not, yet the risk of ruining your rest before you hit the road next day is too big. Also, the gravel path to the chalet makes it hard for your rolling suitcase - unless it is a 4x4 big wheeled off-roader. Breakfast selection is rather limited for the price - unless you're a fan of "German mortadella". Beds are not big and the pillows were totally uncomfortable. What was also striking, was that there are no designated parking spaces for hotel guests (despite advertised on Booking.com) - all were taken by the restaurant and it took a good while to find any. This is definitely not what the tired traveller expect when arriving the layover destination. That all being said, this place can be a great choice for a group of people searching for a contemporary stay in walking distance from the old town, or night owls fancy joining loud festives/parties. That's why we still give it a 7 and not lower, also because of what we listed in the positives section. Unfortunately, we can't recommend it at all as the layover - the downsides are just too big and not acceptable. In one word - avoid this location if you're in similar situation.

Tolle Lage! Startpunkt für schöne Wanderungen, Spaziergang im LGS Gelände oder in die Innenstadt. Parkplatz vor der Haustür. Sehr großes Badezimmer mit wunderbarer Dusche. Bequeme Betten. Restaurant haben wir nicht genutzt, aber es gab eine gute Auswahl an verschiedenen Speisen. Kommen gerne wieder! Herzlichen Dank

Lage ist sehr ruhig, geräuscharm, also sehr positiv. Restaurant inkl. Frühstück zu empfehlen.

Hotelpersonal nicht sehr kundenfreundlich, nur die notwendigen Infos erhalten, keine "hier bin ich willkommen" Atmosphäre ausgelöst.
