At check in I was informed that they were full and needed to move me to their sister property. They arranged a cab to take me to the other property.
So I actually stayed at Hilltop Airport Hotel, the staff there were outstanding and very nice. The room was comfortable and nice.
This is not aa much a complaint of the hotel more Istanbul itself. To stay at this property expect to pay roughly $40 or more getting from airport to hotel and back. Options are private shuttle offered by hotel for around $65, airport vendors $55, UBER round trip $40ish. As for staying to use this hotel to see Istanbul, be weary that you will have to take UBER to metro station or Airport each time to catch the M11 into Istanbul. If I had realized this I would have found a property in the city center instead. During a 4 day stay it added almost $200 in transportation costs to the stay.

Bed was comfy. Easy half way location for a one night layover from the airport. Cost was very good. A few restaurants/supermarkets within a 5 min walk. If staying more than one night, might need a car to venture further away.
Booking.com lists the breakfast as 7-10, but at the hotel it says 7.30-10. slightly disappointing as we had a transfer booked for 7.30 so purposely chose this airport thinking we'd get breakfast before we left. Not to be, that's ok. Just need to amend the time on booking.com to help future customers.

Hotel is about 18 minutes away from IST airport. It is a small building, located in front of a massive historic mosque. Area is not touring area. You would see local dwellings. Breakfast was not so great. Hotel picture on Booking. Com was possibly the best shot they could have actual building is not the greatest Hotel structures. But still value for money. Cleanliness matters for me the most and I got that.
