The buiding and the interior design were really cool, very tropically. And there were 24/7 staff at the front desk. Taxi were easily accessible here.
The rooms are not really soundproof, and there were gecko’s in my room chirping (im okay with them). The bathroom stank a little. And we couldn’t bring guests or friends over to our room, kinda weird.

Absolutely lovely and professional staff, I was greeted with a coconut ice cream upon arrival which I appreciated very much
- in case of any problems or need they were always approachable 24hrs, either in person or via WhatsApp if you find yourself outside of the hotel
- The traditional architecture of this place is gorgeous, I liked the vibes and the place, an oasis in town, very much and the neighbourhood is rather quiet
- They don't provide keys for the main door but immediately open if you ring the bell. I liked it because this way they control who is entering the property
- The hotel is in walking distance to all the main sights of the UNESCO protected Old Town and they have a super cute little restaurant nearby in the same street (Souposo)
- I liked swimming in the morning and in the evening in the little swimming pool
- breakfast was delicious
- I really liked their ecological initiative (cleaning the room by default only every 3 days, unless requested otherwise), in consequence they should only switch to refillable glass bottles instead of providing plastic water bottles in my opinion
room was quite tiny but not an issue for me
- My only unpleasant experience was the taxi the hotel ordered for me to bring me to the bus to the French Guyanan border. The driver tried to rip me off by heftily overcharging me (claiming the ride was SRD 600 when in reality it should rather have been around SRD 100). Luckily I enquired with the staff before how much such a taxi ride would normally cost and therefore could stand my point and negotiate down the price to SRD 120. Obviously I reported this behaviour to the frontdesk afterwards and they reassured me that they will not cooperate with this taxi firm again. They just called it because their usually trustworthy taxi driver was not available.

The property had a gorgeous traditional style and the decor oozes character. The saltwater pool and breakfast patio areas are lovely too. Delicious coconut ice cream on arrival.
It’s quite expensive and at the end of a not very beautiful street - though it’s safe to wander around the area. We arrived in the evening after a really long journey and desperate for something to eat, only to be told they only do breakfast - and couldn’t prepare us even a sandwich. The receptionist couldn’t recommend somewhere for us eat within walking distance, so we went to be hungry and unimpressed.

Nice pool area, great staff, breakfast was also tasty.
Room was never cleaned in my time there, the bathroom as others mentioned is very small and I never had hot water. I also asked to do some washing and was charged more than 20$ for 5 items, had I known this beforehand I would not have done washing here.
