Gorgeous classic home near downtown South Bend. Historic neighborhood. Updated property, full use of first floor including well-equipped kitchen and sweet back deck sitting area for morning coffee. Bedrooms medium sized but comfortable and worked well. Private bathroom in room, shared shower off the hallway. Nice other guests sharing the space. Excellent value overall, will plan to stay here again when we return to SB.
Would be great if bedroom windows had screens to allow open windows for fresh air.

It was conveniently located near the Studebaker museum and a bus that goes to Notre Dame. You can also easily walk downtown from this location. I loved the interior decoration and the hosts were very accommodating.
I can't really think of anything that I didn't like.

The caretaker Cassandra was incredibly responsive and helpful in putting our bags in our room because we dropped them off early in the morning.
When booking I thought this was a bed and breakfast (i.e. an en-suite room in a house like any of the dozens of B&Bs we've stayed at in the past), but this was definitely not that. There was no bathroom in either of the 2 rooms and there was no breakfast. It was like renting a room only in a house and was definitely not suitable for a family of 4 due to the difficulty with the bathroom--you had to pack up your toiletries, towels, robe, etc and walk down the hall or downstairs to shower and then clean up after yourself and your kids each time--it was kind of miserable. And other than some tiny granola bars, there was no food whereas we had thought we would be getting a gourmet breakfast in the morning. Make sure that you are clear that this not a B&B. It is literally only a room in a house.
