I highly recommend Ship canal, and it's supporting bike/run track is a about a 3 minute walk away. There are dozens of high end restaurants and bars just a few minutes away as well as casual dining for breakfast, coffee, or a fun afternoon at the breweries. You can catch most major bus routes by walking 0.1 miles down the hill on to Nickerson St. Uber/Lyfts are readily available at all hours of the day.
