We stayed at this hotel for eight days, from 15 to 23 August, and overall, we had a good experience, especially because of the excellent location and friendly staff. However, some issues are worth mentioning, particularly for anyone planning a longer stay or needing to work from the room.
Excellent location and public transport
The location is one of the biggest advantages of this hotel. It is right in the heart of Antalya, and most of the historical areas and the seaside can be reached within around 13 minutes.
The tram and bus stations are only about a three-minute walk from the hotel, which makes getting around very easy. There is also a direct tram connection to the airport, so arriving by public transport is very convenient. You can buy an Antalya Card at the airport and take the tram directly to the city.
Another big advantage is MarkAntalya shopping centre, which is also only around a three-minute walk away. This was particularly useful because the food court has many Turkish and international options, so you can try reasonably priced Turkish food without having to rely on the more touristy restaurants on the streets. There are also many Turkish and international brands in the shopping centre.
Breakfast and staff
The breakfast was one of the highlights of our stay. During our eight days, there was a good variety of fresh food, different cheeses, olives and other typical breakfast items. Everything we expected from a Turkish-style hotel breakfast was available. The kitchen and breakfast staff were especially friendly and helpful. Whenever we needed something, they were happy to help.
The reception staff were also generally friendly. I would particularly like to mention Gizem, who was very kind and helpful. I would also like to thank the gentleman at reception who helped us on our first day when we were having difficulties with the room situation. We really appreciated his assistance.
Room and cleanliness
We had booked two economy rooms, but because our booked rooms were not ready, the hotel upgraded us. One room had no proper desk or comfortable chair, which was difficult during our 8-day stay as we sometimes needed to work. We did not request daily cleaning, but when we did request cleaning once, it did not feel like a particularly thorough cleaning. Some basic items, such as soap, shampoo and toilet paper, were missing or not replenished automatically. Of course, reception was happy to provide more when we asked, but these are basic necessities that we expected to be replenished automatically.
Check-in experience
We had paid for early check-in, but unfortunately we were not able to use it. More importantly, our room was not ready even after the normal check-in time had passed. There were also quite a lot of people in the lobby, and the check-in process seemed somewhat disorganized.
At one point, we were asked to choose between waiting for our booked room or taking another room that was not what we had originally reserved and which we considered a worse option. After a long flight, this was particularly frustrating because we had specifically expected early check-in as part of our paid booking package.
Eventually, we received a suitable room, but the experience on the first day was disappointing and could have been handled in a more organized and professional way.
Internet
Another significant issue was the Wi-Fi in one of our rooms. The internet connection was extremely slow and, at times, we could barely open social media. It was not suitable for working or gaming, and we had to use our mobile data instead.
Interestingly, this problem did not occur in the other, smaller room we stayed in, where the internet was much better. Therefore, it may depend on the particular room.
We had also paid for fast internet as part of our booking package, so this was particularly disappointing.
