The location and property was just right for us and ticked all the boxes
Broadband keeps dropping so watching films was difficult on wet cold evenings, but that’s not something the owners can do much about

Was a lovely cottage in a great location. Would recommend to anyone who plans to go into Edinburgh or other local surroundings.
We found the cottage required some needed updates - windows starting to tint, curtains that don’t cover the windows completely and other things such as the need for a repaint.
We also found the cleaning to be poor - several cobwebs, spiders, things left from other people (such as food in the fridge that went out of date in March this year) and this was something we couldn’t look past.
The cleaner had also let someone else into the cottage. Despite this being a mistake, the lack of security on the cleaner’s behalf was poor and therefore it caused great problems having to ask other people to leave as they were in the wrong place.

Lovely cottage
Toilet downstairs was very low
upstairs there was no plunger on the toilet ,had to push finger in hole to flush

Beautiful, convenient location for the purpose of our stay.
The cottage was always warm and cosy which was welcomed coming into from a cold evening.
Overpowering smell of musty damp in cottage,
Awful wifi-constant buffering tv and poor tv
channel selection. Had to wash drinking cups on
arrival-stained inside. Fine black hairs on clean pillows (photo attached - hard to see in pic) and yellow stain on bed frame in master bedroom (photo attached) Sleep disturbed from about 3am each night with the noisy movement of something above ceilings/in walls-probably mice I assume! This was really noisy!! I feel cottage would benefit from a fresh paint job, particularly downstairs and some decor improvements, as one of the curtains
in downstairs bedroom was hanging only with a few hooks (photo attached).
