This was a remote cozy cottage with a genuine rustic and traditional feel. Privacy with spectacular views and isolated enough to get a look at the northern lights. We stayed for a week and it was exactly what we wanted, didn’t take into consideration how much driving it would be to and from the city but it was an incredible experience and extraordinary scenery.

We recently stayed at “Bjalli, house on a slope with a view of Hekla volcano” and had a wonderful experience. The house is super cute, cozy, and well-appointed with everything we needed for a comfortable stay. The view of Hekla volcano from the house is simply breathtaking, adding a unique charm to the entire experience.
Maja, our host, was incredibly nice and welcoming. She went out of her way to ensure we had everything we needed and provided excellent recommendations for exploring the local area. Her warmth and hospitality made our stay even more enjoyable.
We highly recommend this delightful spot for anyone looking to enjoy the beauty of Iceland with a wonderful host.

Fantastic stay. The views were miles long. Sunrise and sunsets were 35mm film picturesque and absolutely spectacular. We actually caught the aurora borealis right outside our beautiful cabin. Maja (the owner who also happens to be a famous artist), her husband and their beautiful doggo (named Skinna) are just the perfect hosts that one could hope for. Our children said: "I think we enjoyed this vacation the most".. Can't say enough good things about this place. The feel of the countryside, the open, rolling meadows and the errant sheep/horse make it magical. Maja makes the effort to ensure that one's stay is extra comfortable. Highly highly recommended.
