Always a pleasure to visit the Mistley Thorn. Really friendly staff excellent food and facilities. We stayed in the new extension of the post office which was beautiful. The new cafe bar area and courtyard are really great too.

A large very comfortable and attractive room overlooking the river. Lots of choice at breakfast and excellent service from the staff who were always helpful and friendly.
Enjoyed a late night drink in the new bar after meeting up with relatives.
No real issues but through there should have been a bin in the bedroom for tea bags etc . There was a bin provided in the bathroom but possibly there should be one near the tea and coffee provided.

Breakfast was excellent and staff lovely. Our room had recently been renovated and it was very nice with a nice large walk in shower (room 18) and air conditioning which was an added bonus. All very clean and well appointed.
Just a very minor suggestion from my husband, can you put a shaving mirror by the sink as there is currently no mirror by the sink.

It served its purpose for the trip.
Unfortunately we went during a particularly hot time and the rooms / buildings are not equipped to deal with the heat (30+ degrees). We were provided with fans, but they were not particularly effective. Some of the staff also had a bit of attitude with us during the dinner (we were a large group, and they seemed to be overwhelmed).
