About this apartment rental

MANATEE COVE Swim and paddle with the manatees! WATERFRONT attached apartment right on the main Weeki Wachee River -- not a canal! Large balcony, private entrance. This is a very rare 1/2 acre property with 130' of waterfront offering uninterrupted views. The guest suite has about 1200 square feet under cover including the 300 sq. foot balcony. Charming second story suite with a full kitchen and a wonderful river panorama. Laundry in lower area. The water from the Weeki Wachee magnitude one spring is lovely and clean and stays at 72 to 74 year round. While most of the manatees are in the river from December to April guests spotted at least one almost every day in the summer. The water is shallow and sandy immediately in front of the house so it is safe for kids. You can wade in directly from the dock and play on a large sandbar. One bedroom has a queen bed the other a double. Eating areas on the balcony or inside. Nearby are excellent hiking trails if you want to take a break from the water. Kayaks provided (3 singles, 1 junior, kayaks my vary. Rentals available nearby). Towels provided. All bedding is brand new. There is also a fenced yard to enjoy and plenty of parking( which is shared with the adjoining unit) with a gate for security. Fishing charters, kayak rentals and boat rentals nearby. Also lots of restaurants from fish fry chow down to finer dining. The BBQ and fully stocked with pots, pans, utensils, dishes and the kitchen has everything you need to cook in your Manatee Cove vacation home. Other things to note: LATE CHECK-OUTS & EARLY CHECK-INS: Check-in time is 4PM and checkout time is 11AM. Door codes do not activate until set check-in time. Early access will not be provided without prior approval. Guests who check-in early or checkout past checkout time will charged the additional fee of $50/hr. DAMAGE DEPOSIT: A damage deposit of $100 is required at time of booking. This is collected by credit card. Your deposit will be refunded in full by credit card, subject to an inspection of the property. SECURITY CAMERA: There is a security camera facing the driveway that will be on during your stay. The house and location were amazing. The only areas that could use attention are as follows… 1) shade on the back porch- I understand that this has already been addressed 2). If you are in the downstairs bedroom there is a lot of foot step noise from the apt, above. 3) Sub floor in the bedroom doorway is soft causing the ceramic tile to flex. 4) Paddle toys…kayaks and paddle board could use some updating. Overall, it was a spectacular spot and a great house. We already book a week for next year. Thank you!

Great view, lots of Manatee sightings. Great place to swim. Lots of people stop there to swim with kids too. Someone was jumping out of a dead tree on the preserve side. Had us concerned. Kayaking was great fun. The screen room was the best, we were out in it except to sleep and shower. Very small and cozy, not meant for large gatherings it’s too small. We had an amazing time staying on the river. The condo was the perfect size for our family of three and getting up and paddling out first thing in the morning before anyone else was priceless. Thank you so much for a wonderful weekend getaway. I look forward to booking the property again.

We enjoyed everything about our stay at the Manatee Cove and would highly recommend it to anyone. You have your own private doc and yard, kayaks at your disposal and you cannot beat it's location. The water was beautiful, we enjoyed seeing all the manatees swim by and wish we could have stayed longer. Definitely will be back, it's truly a gem.

We just got back from a 4 night stay and wow was it amazing!!! The location on the river is 5 stars, the fact you can walk out is prime especially since we have little ones! We went for my 40th and had a blast!!! Hated leaving! Owners and property manager are easily to communicate with and super nice! My fiancés parents were able to rent the downstairs suite which was really nice (I wanted to stay in it!!! Haha) Beds were pretty comfy too, I preferred the queen though as I like my space!!! :) Can’t wait to come back!

This property is the best money I have ever spent on a vacation with the family. The property is placed perfect on the river for anything you want to do and very clean. The house is cute, clean, and has everything you could need (and then some). Alison and David also put a lot of thought into the little details. There are games, DVDs, books, and a binder of local details and good things to know. My wife and I are both Florida natives and love doing anything related to water. We specifically made this trip to kayak on the river. The included kayaks and paddle board were awesome and saved us from having to bring our own or rent one. Pro tip, if you're going up river (which I recommend, it's amazing), take the tandem! Two people paddling up current makes it so much easier. Overall, an awesome 4 day weekend. We would definitely stay here again.

The hosts were very accommodating and super friendly. We wanted to kayak the river but because of shoulder issues it was difficult to paddle against the current, they offered to pick us up down river so we could go with the current. Above and beyond. Had some minor issues with dishwasher and they fixed immediately. Very easy to contact the hosts. Place was very clean and the balcony was a very relaxing place just watching the kayaks paddle by. Saw 5-6 manatees.

We had an amazing time at Manatee Cove!!! The house is in a nice quiet neighborhood but close to everything we needed. Allison and Dave were so helpful and friendly during our visit! We saw manatees in the river every single day. The river was perfect for swimming (clear and shallow) and great for kayaking too. We definitely hope to be back. It was absolutely amazing!

Great location to people watch and kayak from. Loved trying the standup paddle board for the first time. Saw a few Manatees. Just the 3 of us staying, but we did also host a family Thanksgiving, with 4 additional adults. SIL brought a baster, and niece brought aluminum foil and desserts, but we worked with everything else on site (purchased a disposable roasting pan). Beds were comfortable, plenty of towels for showers and swimming. Easy to get in to apartment. Quick hint: When leaving, put in your google maps directions using the WIFI as no cell reception! We got lost leaving and had to go back to house to use the WIFI to download directions. Would definitely come back.

Amazing location right on the beautiful weeki wachee river. Looks just like the pictures. Clean and well appointed. Large covered deck with a great view of the river. Fenced yard perfect for families with children. We enjoyed daily use of the provided kayaks. I recommend launching from weeki wachee springs Park and floating downstream - paddling upstream can be challenging depending on the current. You'll just need to arrange a ride back to the park to retreive your vehicle (there's no shuttle back if using your own kayaks). We rented a 4 person boat on our last day which was great and affordable. We saw three manatees during our stay. So peaceful and stunningly beautiful. Can't wait to come back.

We had a great stay at Manatee Cove. The suite was as described, and check in was easy. Allison and David were easy to communicate with, and put us in touch with their property manager when we had some minor questions about the property. The suite was spotless, and very comfortable for the two of us. Unlike a past rental, the mattress was very comfortable as well. We really enjoyed eating many of our meals out on the large covered deck so that we could watch the river, and watch the boaters and kayakers as they passed by. During our early October trip, we did notice that boating traffic on the weekend could get a little heavy, and a few groups were noisy. However, the majority of boaters were gone by late afternoon, and during the week it's quiet and peaceful. The river, with the nature preserve on the opposite bank, is gorgeous. We really liked the location of Manatee Cove. The property is tucked into a residential neighborhood, off of main roads, but it's still a short drive to grocery stores and restaurants. And Weeki Wachee State Park is a 10 minute drive. Yes, we did the touristy thing, and saw the mermaid show! The main draw for us, though, was being right on the beautiful Weeki Wachee River. We made full use of the available kayaks, and went out on the river nearly every day. (Remember to bring a life vest out with you, because the river is patrolled!) We're pretty beginner kayakers, but it was easy to use the dock to get right into the river. Even though we were a little early for 'manatee season' , we still saw a handful of manatees cruising by during our week-long stay. It's a fairly long paddle upstream to the springs at the state park, but well worth it for the beautiful scenery, and more chances to see manatees. We'll be back!

The Manatee Cove on the River was a nice get away. The amenities are well maintained. The location of the property on the River is fantastic. We did not expect to see Manatees in the summer however, we did everyday. Kayaks are in good condition. The weekends are very crowded and people in a rush to go no where, During the week it is great and the early mornings are the best, We would stay at this property again. The perfect size for 3-4 people.

We absolutely loved it here. So much water frontage with both shallow and deep water directly in front of the house. Manatees came by every single day! Kayaks were plenty and clean. We didn't want to leave. :-( absolutely the best rental on the river.

Amazing property that overlooks the river! The porch view was the BEST! We watched the manatees pass by morning and evening. It has every amenity we needed. Full kitchen, laundry, grill, kayaks, and the paddleboard, which we got to try for the first time! The river itself is amazing! We reserved a spot kayaking from the state park and floated back to the house, which sits on a bend with great swimming depths. Thank you to Alison and David for sharing your home with us!

It was a beautiful property right on a nice shallow section of river, perfect for swimming, we saw 21 manatees in 3 days right from the porch and schools of mullet. We kayaked every day, the house was very nice, clean and cozy. I highly recommend this property.
