Amazing stay at Hotel Alaia, Ahangama, Sri Lanka!
From the moment we arrived we were greeted with such warm hospitality, including a welcome coconut. We stayed in a Superior King Room with Sea View and the location couldn’t be better — Ahangama town, the main beach and Secret Beach are all just a 5-10 min walk or quick tuk ride away.
The food was phenomenal — the breakfast is easily the best I’ve had at any hotel. Huge thanks to Anuradha, Abhishek, Dileep, and Praveen for their incredible service. They also handled my girlfriend’s nut allergy perfectly and made us feel so looked after.
Highly recommend. We’ll definitely be back!
There isn’t a pool but the beach is near by and the water is calm even during high tide.

Alia is one of those rare properties where hospitality is genuinely felt, not just performed.
Anu takes care of you like family ,you’re in the best hands from the moment you arrive.
The rooms are stunning ,we’re talking ocean views while brushing your teeth. Enough said.
Only one thing to flag , being on the main road means some vehicle noise does seep in, so noise insulation could use a little work. Minor, but worth knowing for light sleepers.

The location was good and the rooms were spacious, clean, modern and comfortable. The bed and linen was really comfortable and the view from the room was beautiful. Breakfast was delicious and staff was polite and nice

The views of the sea are beautiful. The property has a nice restaurant. The staff are congenial.
The plumbing doesn’t work well in the rooms. There is constant fluctuation between hot and cold water. And inspite of us informing the staff there was nothing they did about it - seemed like they can’t do much. The room has stained upholstery. At this price point one expects more.
