Tropic Inn - Mount Lavinia

Neat and modern appearance externally. Foyer is well organised. Lift and stairs fully functional. I stayed for 2 nights initially and then returned for 2 more because I liked it so much. Room was large and had ample storage space. Double bed really comfortable. Fully air conditioned. Lots of sockets and lights so I could set my own level of illumination. Bathroom was clean and very modern. Walk in shower superb in terms of water pressure, hot water etc. There is a fridge which I had no reason to use. Had breakfast twice for Rs 1500 each time. I had the traditional Sri Lankan fare. Real home style and plenty. The location is excellent, being less than 100 metres to the beach and the main beach restaurants. I stayed in this hotel several years ago. They have significantly upscaled it from what used to be a backpackers place to a high standard hotel with all amenities for a very affordable price. Loved all the staff who were attentive but unobtrusive. Special mention to Thuan and the other manager who were both extremely helpful in terms of key information, payments and keeping my luggage in storage while I was on a short trip to Trincomalee. Also important is the fact that the hotel is about 20minutes walk from Mount Lavinia railway station from which one could board the early morning express train all the way to Jaffna and beyond and commuter trains to Colombo Fort, the central hub for trains to all destinations. Tropic Inn is where I will stay every time I visit Sri Lanka in the future. I highly recommend it to solo traveller and families alike. Thank you to all at the hotel who made my stay there one of fond memories!

Lo staff è risultato anonimo senza Interazione col cliente non cè il pronto ma i prodotti bagno si. In tre giorni la stanza non è stata pulita e nessuno ci ha chiesto se li volessimo.

I had enjoyes the quiernrss and facilities. It is close to Galle road too.

On weekends some times it could be loud.

Good size, clean, ensuited rooms with a fridge and kettle. Staff were extremely friendly and helpful.

Very minor complaint - the foyer, hallways and shared areas were hot.
