Breakfast was tasty, with the rolls and breads being the star, along with the local honey. Rooms are very spacious. The hotel is quiet. The onsen in the hotel is very convenient.
This is a hotel that has seen better days, I’m afraid: The rooms are dated, carpets and rugs need to be replaced, the pajamas and robes are frayed and limp. The room smelled like a mixture of wet dogs and mustiness, even though this hotel doesn’t allow pets. The grounds are very pretty, and if you like being away from the city, it is a great location. However, if you don’t have a car, the shuttle service is rather limiting in that the last one returning to the hotel is at 3:30 pm, which translates to paying for a taxi if you want dinner in town.

Beautiful scenery around the hotel and large room.
- The a/c wasn’t working during our first night and it was very cold. Couldn’t be fixed until late into the night and we got heaters instead.
- Strangely the shower did not have anywhere to place shampoo/soap bottles and had to be placed on the floor
- Room was poorly lit and too dark for our liking
