Freshwater Plantation - Aore Island

I loved the friendly service. We were not able to stay at the accommodation as we had planned, however Klass communicated clearly with us to make sure we were accommodated elsewhere. Once they have been able to make the necessary repairs the accommodation will be great, albeit simple cottage life. We did spend an afternoon there, we enjoyed snorkelling, the canoe and the bat cave tour. We then had dinner (you must call ahead to book). The food was excellent.

I thought that the bat cave tour was little over priced, it was a good tour but not a great tour. They showed the farm animals, the fruits and vegetables that grow on the plantation and provided information about these things. The cave itself is culturally significant and a pleasant walk up hill to see the views. However, the generator had gone down so the lighting didn't work. We weren't even sure we would get dinner (they saved the day by borrowing a neighbour's generator). Fantastic problem solving.

Un super accueil toujours avec le sourire 🙏 L'hôtesse Joséphine s'est mise en quatre pour nous faire plaisir ! La cuisinière Ramona nous a concocté des plats très originaux avec des produits locaux. Je conseille d'aller prendre un déjeuner sur place. Une végétation luxuriante. Une balade de 2h à une grotte remplie de chauve-souris (Bat-Cave) et au travers d'une caférie et une plantation de cacaoiers à flanc de colline. Le silence appréciable car le gîte est sur l'îlot Aoré et est en face de la capitale bruyante Luganville. Je ne peux que conseiller ce bungalow au bord de mer et siroter son apéro à la tombée de la nuit.😁

Le cottage familial était spacieux et propre, situé un peu en retrait de la plage. Le ménage a même été refait pendant notre séjour. La litterie est très propre et confortable. Le personnel est très sympathique. On peut faire du snorkeling sur la plage en contrebas avec des très beaux coraux sur l'ancienne jetée immergée et beaucoup de petits poissons variés. Les transferts aéroport sont inclus dans le prix et Josephine peut vous organiser avec un taxi un tour à Santo ou des plongées sur l'épave du Coolidge avec le club de plongée.

Les repas proposés sont délicieux mais un peu chers ( ente 1800 et 2800 vatu) . Peut-être faudrait-il proposer quelques plats plus simples pour les petits budgets? Quelques coupures d’électricité, ce qui n’est pas gênant la journée mais plus embêtant la nuit quand les ventilateurs ne fonctionnent plus.

Great location, lovely bungalow, Vinny and Klauss both very friendly and helpful.

Overpriced for what it was, especially the restaurant.
