The staff were friendly and helpful. The room was a decent size, well-equipped and everything worked. The breakfast was a good continental breakfast. If you are flying in to or out of Adolfo Suárez Madrid–Barajas Airport and your main means of travelling to Hostal Los Coronales is via the local transit or the metro, use their airport-shuttle service when checking-in/out.
Despite what is shown in the pictures, the front gate is not propped wide open during check-in hours. If one arrives independently of their airport-shuttle (the best way to arrive), one may assume that the gate is locked. If one pushes the buzzer, a Spanish recording plays. All communication prior to meeting any staff member is entirely in Spanish. If you are not fluent in Spanish, use Google translate or a similar service. Tip: if you arrive during check-in hours, push the gate with the doorknob. Please note, the staff are bilingual/multilingual.
The room in which I stayed needed a second bedside table. Priority was given to the bedside with the phone jack. Therefore, if one needed to charge one's device(s) one would need to use one's luggage standing upright or move a piece of the room's furniture. My room was not equipped with a safe, but I didn't need a safe.

At the time arrival front desk personnel were helpful and friendly . Room decent for the price. Near airport. Transfer from hostal to airport on time
No refrigerator in room. Since there are no restaurants nearby but a supermarket would have been nice to keep refrigerated beverages and food. No wake up calls available
