JESMOND House B&B room 4

Lovely, period house and very friendly host. The room was very comfortable and every need anticipated. I particularly liked the always open dining room.

The Jesmond is a perfect bed and breakfast with friendly staff, a quiet location close to Pearson Park and superb standards of comfort. I will certainly stay here when I next visit Hull.

There was nothing to fault.

We arrived as guests and left feeling like friends Our stay at Jesmond House was genuinely one of the warmest, most relaxing and most memorable stays we have ever had. Claire and Gene were absolutely amazing hosts, and from the moment we arrived, they made us feel completely welcome and at home. Claire is exceptional and is absolutely in the right job. She is kind, caring, thoughtful, generous and naturally brilliant at looking after people. She has such a warm personality and made sure we had everything we needed, while still giving us plenty of privacy to enjoy a peaceful couples’ weekend. Claire and Gene never invaded our space, but at the same time, we genuinely loved chatting with them. By the time we left, it felt as though we were saying goodbye to friends rather than hosts. The breakfast was incredibly generous, and the vegan food completely won me over. I am now absolutely sold! Claire is an amazing cook, and everything was full of flavour. We had garlic-seasoned mushrooms, spinach, vegan bacon and vegan sausages, and honestly, you would barely know the difference. Every morning was a lovely surprise because we never knew what Claire was going to make next. She also used fresh, free-range eggs from their own chickens and found different ways to prepare them each day. We also had soaked oats topped with fruit and yoghurt, which were absolutely delicious. One of the loveliest moments was having coffee brought outside to us while we sat in the sunshine, enjoying the beautiful and peaceful surroundings. It felt so calm, relaxing and special. Claire also made sure there was always something available if we became hungry later. She left out snacks throughout the night, including fruit, fruit juices, toast, jam and crumpets. Those thoughtful little touches made us feel so cared for and showed just how much effort she puts into making her guests comfortable. The house itself was beautiful, with so much character and charm.

Fantastic host. Extremely clean bedroom and lovely decor to bedroom and great mattress. Very quiet.

Mostly great. No parking. Garden being done up but will be great when it’s ready.
