About this house rental

August mornings at Crescent Beach have a way of slowing everything down - dolphins threading through the surf just offshore, the Atlantic catching early light, and a wraparound porch on three levels to take it all in from. This five-bedroom, three-level beach house puts twelve guests one block from vehicle beach access and fifteen minutes from the storied streets of historic St. Augustine.

Living & dining
The top floor is where the group naturally gathers. An open-concept living area flows into a dining space and a fully equipped kitchen outfitted with double ovens, a Keurig coffee maker, dishwasher, and all the cookware and dishware you need for a full group meal. A powder room on this level keeps things practical, and the wraparound porch is just a step away whenever the sea breeze wins out.

Sleeping arrangements
The second floor holds three bedrooms and three full bathrooms. The primary suite has a king bed, HDTV, a large closet, and an en-suite bathroom, plus a private porch - ideal for quiet mornings with a coffee before the house wakes up. The Flamingo Room offers a queen bed and smart TV, sharing a hallway bath with a tub. A third bedroom features a twin daybed with trundle and its own private shower bathroom, well suited for kids or a solo traveler. Down on the ground floor, a bunk room sleeps six across two bunk beds with trundles and opens directly onto a covered patio with an outdoor shower. A fifth bedroom on this level has a queen bed with access to a shared full bathroom with a glass shower.

Game room
The garage has been turned into a proper game room with a ping pong table and foosball table - the kind of space that keeps the group entertained long after the beach day wraps up. A gas grill and beach gear are also stored here, along with a beach wagon and chairs for the walk to the water.

Getting around
Vehicle drive-on beach access is one block away. Local restaurants and shops are just minutes out, and downtown St. Augustine's historic district is roughly fifteen minutes by car. An elevator connects all three floors, making the house fully accessible for guests who need it.

The Patel family had an absolutely wonderful stay at A Shore Thing! From the moment we arrived, we could immediately tell how much care and attention was put into creating a welcoming experience. The home was spotless, beautifully maintained, spacious, and felt incredibly warm and inviting. Everything was thoughtfully arranged, and it truly felt like a home away from home rather than just a rental property. The location was excellent, and the atmosphere made it easy for our entire family to relax, spend quality time together, and create memories we will cherish. We especially appreciated the comfortable layout and the overall feeling that the hosts genuinely care about giving guests a great experience. We have stayed at many vacation homes over the years, and this was one of our favorite family stays. The only unfortunate issue had nothing to do with the property itself, but with a neighboring resident across from the home. During our stay, she repeatedly created an uncomfortable environment by appearing to intentionally set off her car alarm, making inappropriate comments toward younger family members, and recording videos of our family without permission. While this was disappointing, it does not reflect the quality of the home or the hosts. We would absolutely recommend this property and hope this situation is addressed because A Shore Thing truly deserves its great reputation.

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was very happy with the location. I was more than satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Suncastle is great to work with! Will use Suncastle again in future. The house was located in a great area and was overall very nice. Balconies were terrific! Please note, AC is in major need of repair, Kitchen sink needs ATTENTION, loose basin, and a working heavy duty garbage disposal. Missing pillow cases. Should have a bigger refrigerator with working ice/water. Ceiling fans / remotes in all the rooms were an issue.

My family and I stayed at this property for 5 days and we had a great time. The property was clean and enjoyable. However, there were a few things that made for small inconveniences and one major thing which is the reason we won't be coming back to this property for our next family vacation to St. Augustine. The reason my family and I will not be coming back to this property is because after my family and I returned home, the management company contacted me saying that they charged my card $320 extra dollars because they found "evidence" of us having pets in the house during our stay. We never had any animals or pets in the house during our stay. I emailed the management company back asking for additional information, explaining we never had any pets in the house and that I was not happy with them charging my card without them contacting me first and the property management company simply never responded. There were cameras in the house that the company could have checked to verify we never had pets in the house but they chose to lose my continued business over $320 of fraudulent fees. Bad customer service. The small inconveniences: The house has 5 bedrooms and sleeps 12, however the property management company only left us one roll of paper towels and one dishwasher pod for our entire stay. I'm not suggesting that this ruined our trip but we paid a significant amount of money for this property and expected a bit more from the management company on this front.
