About this house rental
Wake up to the sound of the Pacific, walk two minutes to Zicatela, and come home to a pool that's yours alone.
Casa Guadalupe is a three-level, three-bedroom villa in Brisas de Zicatela, built for people who want to actually settle in — families, groups of friends, and remote workers who need the internet to just work. Every bedroom has its own bathroom. Every bedroom has air conditioning. And the house is looked after by a team who've cared for it for years.
What makes it different
No cleaning fee. Ever. The price you see is the price you pay — no surprise charges at checkout.
A staffed home. Housekeeping three times a week, a dedicated pool technician, and a gardener who keeps the grounds lush year-round. You are not doing chores on your vacation.
Starlink internet. Not "fast WiFi" — actual Starlink, with a hardwired setup and repeaters throughout the house. Puerto Escondido has a reputation for unreliable internet. This house doesn't have that problem. Take the call, upload the file, stream in the evening.

A bright, open living room in warm rustic wood, a dining area that seats everyone, a fully equipped kitchen our guests consistently rate as the best part of the house, a half-bath, and a wide terraza.
The garden level
A third bedroom and bathroom, plus a salita — an outdoor lounge with a bar, sink, gas grill, and mini-fridge — opening onto the gardens and a freeform private pool.

A note on our cats
A small family of neighborhood cats lives on the grounds and is fed daily by our staff. They're gentle, they keep to the garden, and most guests love them — but if anyone in your party has a cat allergy, we'd rather you knew before you booked.
Getting here
Puerto Escondido International (PXM) is a 12-minute drive. Zicatela Beach is a 2-minute walk, Zicatela Market 7 minutes on foot, and Cactus and El Cafecito are both within a short stroll.

The house itself is very nice; the photos accurately depict the features and various rooms of the house. We especially enjoyed the roof terrace. A thorough cleaning was provided three times a week, which we did not expect and is unusual for a whole-house rental. The kitchen is well stocked, although there is no microwave oven (?). There is a built-in water filter on the cold-water (righthand) side of the kitchen sink, so you don't have to buy bottled water.The generalized "location" shown on the VRBO map is inaccurate – the house is actually on the beach side of the main highway and is, in fact, just steps from the beach itself.In addition to being "pet friendly", the house comes with its own pets! There are three resident cats (two are shown in one of the photos), and the man who cleans the pool comes by morning and evening every day to feed them. (Yes, he has a key and just lets himself in.)The main problem we had is that the electricity was cut off in the middle of the night five of the six nights we were there. This meant that the air conditioning (separate units in each bedroom) did not work properly, functioning only as fans and not cooling the air. We did not get a good night's sleep the whole week we were there. This was not the fault of the owner or manager but of the power company, but it is important to know.

We loved the house. Rocio and her staff did an excellent job for us. Centrally located, so there’s fun in either direction. It is located near a club so if there is a special event it can be loud throughout the night. This happened once but it was worth making it work. Great place.
