Rooms were dated, but very clean. Friendly staff.

Convenient location to penn state. Waffle place next door was good food but long lines. Room needs to have updated furnishings. A fresh coat of white paint would brighten up the room. Bathroom has fresh very white towels, good water pressure, eco friendly shampoo packets, but NO hair dryer. Beds ok. Would stay there again.

Older place, but very clean and convenient location to Penn State.

The check in process was smooth. The staff were very friendly. The room was just as pictured. The shower was clean and water pressure was great.

Great place to stay for the grandkids, my daughter and me for the Nittany Lion Wrestling Club's tournament. Would highly recommend to anybody.
1.0
Old style motel, semi quirky design (in a good way). Nice folks at the front desk.
Now, for the poor part :
Room was a stifling 80 degrees when I checked-in; so I re-set the heat to the mid 60's (I like it cool for sleep). 5 hours later the room was still about 80, so i turned the heat off altogether and turned on the A/C (February '24). The A/C blower did not work, cool air just escaped out in very small amounts. So, at 2:30am, it was still hot in the room, so I opened the window, which helped a litte. At 10am it was till 77 degrees in the room (outside was about 32).
The tv did not work; appeared to never have been set-up; could not get any channels at all, despite getting directions from the office. did manage to get a Netflix ad, which informed me that I had to pay to watch it. So, no tv. Front office had no solution for this, or the heat in the room.
Also, the fridge did not work at all. I bought a couple of sodas & water and put them in the fridge. The fridge did not run at all.
I stayed here previously and had a good experience, but this one was lousy; hard to sleep in the hot room, no working fridge and no working tv.
Talked about it to the office that night and the next morning at checkout; they were sympathetic but offered no discount on that stay or a discount on a future stay. Not even an offer of a cold soda or water.

Came for a college tour for daughter this was convenient, it was quiet. It was dated and bathroom was small but it was safe and easy. Had to drive to campus wasn't really walkable but we had a great time. The breakfast restaurant next door was super convenient and delicious.

Clean, friendly, affordable, convenient to PSU activities

Only drawback is there is no walkable restaurants and I think they mention that in their ad.

Our first stay. Staff was friendly. Property is dated, a 60’s era motel setup. Front office has coffee thermos pumper, did not try the coffee. Rooms are small, shower tight, they use extension cords (unsafe) stains on walls, wallpaper peeling off, air conditioner old. Beds are comfortable. Refrigerator and microwave work. Open area for handing clothes. One drawer for other clothes. The parking is tight and limited as there were stays with multiple vehicles. We stayed on a Thursday nite and there were men outside smoking, loud, but did quiet down around 11pm. The front door is wooden with a key lock and one dated deadbolt. This hotel is close to campus and restaurants. It has seen many Penn State football, graduation, etc weekends but is quickly approaching the end if a serious remodel is not undertaken. Been going to Penn State sporting events for 43 years and thought we’d give them a try. OK for a one nighter if you’re looking for a budget stay.

A good price and a very comfortable room. Not far from Penn State; and restaurants and shopping nearby.

This was a great little motel, the staff was friendly, and it was convenient. However, some of the others staying there (long term?) were incredibly noisy (blasting music from car not just once but several times as they kept leaving and coming back) and intimidating. They continued into the night (after midnight) standing outside our room and laughing about us asking them to quiet down earlier and it made us feel unsafe.
Other than that we also loved that we could walk to breakfast right next store and the fridge and microwave were convenient as well.

This is a very nice place to stay. The staff was very helpful.
The Original Waffle House is next door.

Absolutely amazing! I love this motel. Older but well maintained. I love the vintage look! Immaculately clean. Bed was so comfortable! Staff were totally friendly and helpful. Would recommend and I would certainly stay there again.

Woman who checked me in was very nice and friendly! Great price and location!

Old school motel--with more than I expected--had a small fridge, microwave, and a flat panel TV--didn't use any of them--but they were there.
Was there one night for a concert. Checked in, walked through the parking lot to "The Greek" for dinner. Drove 10 minutes to The State Theater for the concert, returned. Got up walked across the parking lot in other direction to "The Original Waffle Shop" for breakfast. Checked out.
Only slight complaint is the window AC unit is pretty loud. But that was solved by leaving it run while we were at the concert and turning it off for the night.

Super nice staff at check in; cleanliness of bath especially appreciated : )

Room was clean, check-in was easy and staff were friendly. Property is dated and beds were not super comfortable.

There is nothing spectacular about Stevens Motel, and it isn't 5 star, but it is a preferred location for us at times. It is clean, it always has been safe, it is convenient to downtown State College and University Park. Nothing like walking right next door to the Waffle Shop for breakfast. We can afford to stay somewhere else, but we have always been satisfied with Stevens, and the price CANNOT be beat for a clean, safe hotel.

Room was large and very clean. I was very pleased that a refrigerator and microwave were included in the room. Excellent TV options included between satellite and streaming services. The Wi-Fi isn’t very good, but that’s not a big deal for most people since most use their phone data. For an older motel, it is very well cared for and the staff was friendly.

The staff was great. Rooms were comfortable. A little dated in that the beds, furniture, wall coverings were older. But clean and comfortable. Great value for an overpriced town in terms of lodging options.

We will stay here again, the room was clean and comfortable and for the price a great bargain. Close to everything.

Clean place, friendly staff, not a lot of noise, what's NOT to like?

Very nice motel. The front desk attendant gave me a suggestion for dinner and the Original Waffle Shop is right next door for breakfast! Even though it’s not super updated I am glad I stayed here. Also the location is very convenient to campus. A+

The Stevens Motel felt like home for the week. Super clean rooms, friendly staff, dated but comfortable amenities, and convenient parking all made it the perfect retreat. I plan on staying any time I have to travel back to Penn State.

The Stevens Motel was the perfect weekend stay for my girlfriend and I! Chris really helped make the stay feel very homey and comfortable, while making everything easy! Being right next to The Waffle Shop, it makes the location perfect for waking up and walking to go get a great breakfast :)

Convenient location, quiet and easy parking. Bed pillows were too hard but that could be just me. Everything was clean and everyone was helpful.

Very clean, perfect for a quick over night in State College before an early meeting. Love the retro vibe.

Extremely nice, friendly, and accommodating staff. Had coffee(!). This place is appearance dated and no frills. But it is clean, safe, and comfy. The staff will bend over backward to help you out. The location cannot be beat- is a mile from campus and walkable to restaurants, etc. I had a great experience here.
