I think there needs to be some more realistic reviews on here. I saw all the positive reviews through Booking.com and didn’t think to look at this hotel through Google where the reviews are more nuanced and balanced. One of the issues is payment, which is twofold: you cannot pay in advance through Booking.com, and I was charged more than the agreed price when I arrived. For instance, I was expecting the price of the hotel to be as agreed through Booking.com, which if I’m honest, already felt over priced. But when I arrived, I couldn’t pay by card and instead I needed to withdraw cash. That’s fine, but when he told me how much, the cost was £20 more than the agreed price. I was so shocked that I even asked him to double check. He said that Booking.com didn’t include ‘street tax’. Whether that’s true or not, I don’t really care, I just like complete transparency before I commit to a hotel booking. At the end of the day, I’m a student and this was a little summer break. For me, £20 increase for a 2 night stay is a lot and I would have picked a nicer hotel if I had known the price beforehand. Another issue people need to know is that, although the location is convenient, it’s not particularly nice and there are other hotels in much nicer locations for a similar price. Again, I got hooked in through the reviews on Booking.com and didn’t think to look any where else. I must stress, although the area is a little edgy, I don’t think it’s particularly dangerous but if you’re thinking that the price will reflect the location, it doesn’t. I have attached photos of the entrance so you can see for yourself. Belgrade is a really cool place, with amazing cafes and beautiful brutalist buildings, I was just a bit disappointed overall by this place.
