A little gem, with a divine pool, in lovely quiet Xaghra. Monica is an excellent host, & goes out of her way to please. She also makes a terrific breakfast.
The room is large & has a balcony, but there is also another larger deck overlooking the pool. There's a selection of restaurants/bars in the local square overlooked by an impressive church, or buses to Victoria or Marsalforn for more choice.
Although Xaghra is quiet most of the time, there's a flurry of traffic past the window in the mornings, & a noisy cockeral !

Wonderful homely property with a very very friendly host.
The personal touches and great conversation during breakfast were great. Very much recommended.
The bedroom, shared areas and bathroom were very well kept and very clean and the pool is a gem. Peaceful and clean.
(Also the chocolate cake is worth a rebook!)

The property was beautiful, clean, and tidy. It was spacious and offered a great sense of privacy.
I would like to bring to your attention several issues we encountered during our recent stay at [MJ Farmhouse B&B], booked through your platform. Unfortunately, our experience did not match the description or expectations presented on Booking.com.
1. Pool Access:
The listing stated that the pool was open at all times throughout the year, which was one of the main reasons we chose this property. However, upon arrival, we were told that pool use was not allowed during the evening or night. We paid €280 for one night (4 adults and 3 children) but were not permitted to use the pool as advertised. When we requested clarification, the owner, Ms. Monica, cited safety reasons and only allowed pool access in the morning—right before our 10 AM checkout.
2. Kitchen Usage:
We were informed that cooking was not allowed as per the property’s policy. However, this restriction was not mentioned on the Booking.com listing. This caused inconvenience during our stay.
3. Power Outage:
Around 11 PM, the electricity went off, causing panic among the children. When we contacted Ms. Monica, she seemed upset for being disturbed late at night and initially blamed us for interfering with the electrical system. Later, she concluded that the power failure occurred because the lights had been left on in all three rooms we booked. This was unexpected and made us feel uncomfortable.
4. Breakfast and Privacy:
Although breakfast was included in our booking, Ms. Monica arrived at the property around 6 AM to prepare it and stayed until we left. This affected our privacy and made the morning feel rushed.
