We spent five nights at Salzkammergut Lodge and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. We traveled as a family with two kids (ages 8 and 10), and having two separate bedrooms made a huge difference for our overall comfort. The kids had their own bedroom with cool wooden bunk beds that they absolutely loved (mainly because they had their own TV right in bed!)
The automatic check-in process was so easy, convenient, and cool - a seamless way to arrive without any stress.
The location was fantastic: tucked away in a mini forest off the main road, with no shops or other buildings nearby. It was incredibly quiet and peaceful, and you could hear the river flowing all day long, which made the whole experience even more relaxing.
The lodge itself is beautiful and fully equipped with everything a family could need for a comfortable stay. On top of that, having access to a free gym and laundry/dryer machines (for an additional fee) was a great bonus. It really felt like a home away from home, allowing you to feel nicely secluded in nature while still being only a few minutes' drive from the nearby town of Abensee for local necessities. Additionally, it served as a great base for exploring most of the main attractions and lakes nearby.
The only thing missing was mosquito nets/screens on the windows and balcony door. Because the lodge is in a dark, natural area, opening windows at night attracts bugs. Since there is no air conditioning, proper window screens would be a game-changer for enjoying fresh air during warmer months. Other than this, the place is perfect!

We had kids with us, and the nearby river made our life much easier. Also there is a designated BBQ place.
