Highbridge Hotel

The location of the hotel was in a lively, bustling neighborhood. There were neighborhood businesses open late into the early morning hours yet our room seemed very insulated from any street noise. The hotel was located close to the subway station (about a 5 minute walk). The blackout curtains worked very well, we had a hard time waking up each morning since no sunlight entered the room to let us know it was morning. The breakfast buffet had scrambled eggs (from real eggs not powdered), a potato side, a meat protein (sausage or bacon), mini pancakes, a couple of dry cereal choices, oatmeal, assorted freshly delivered breads, fruit (typically apples and/or oranges), milk, fruit juices and coffee. There were bagels, coffee, and filtered water available 24 hours/day. The shower had decent water pressure and felt like softened water. There was plenty of closet space with an overhead loft area for storage.

The bathroom lacked counter space for toiletries. We had a slow draining sink and toilet but maintenance got them working correctly, shortly after we reported the problem to the front desk. The online photos of the hotel were a bit misleading to what we actually encountered on our day of arrival. The street in front of the hotel had a row of cars parked in front every day/night, some even double parked (online photo shows barely any cars in front of hotel). The breakfast area when not in use, had upturned chairs on tables (online photo looked very tidy and neat). Picture how home sellers use brightening/lightening and other filters to showcase their listing.

Clean rooms, nice view, good food

When I was trying to sleep I kept hearing other guest opening and closing doors the whole night. I kept waking up to it

Easy to get to Yankee's Stadium.

I was disappointed to have been told it was as a requirement for me to bus my own table after eating the mediocre breakfast you served. As I was done eating and get up to leave, an employee approached me and insisted that I bus my table, that it was a requirement. I refused, and she followed me out of the cafeteria and kept insisting but i ignored her. After having assigned seating in the cafeteria. I also dont like that parking wasn't included. I had to pay extra. And last but not least- the street the hotel is on is extremely sketchy. I understand why the hotel picture doesn't show the street picture
