Nestled in Cedar Key, this charming house for $242 per night is a great option for your next break. Blue Chair Key is the perfect waterfront getaway for four! Are your dates already booked at Blue Chair Key? Try one of our other cute cottages, Calypso Cottage or Key Lime! Blue Chair Key is a waterfront two bedroom, one bathroom vacation home that sleeps two in the master bedroom with a king sized bed and two in the guest room with a queen sized bed. Beautifully decorated and comfortably adorned, you will feel right at home. The kitchen is fully stocked for your cooking needs. The portal window in the dining room sets the tone for an incredible nautical stay right on the water. Walk outside to enjoy the floating dock, a perfect spot for fishing or launching kayaks! A fish cleaning station is available for your use. Blue Chair Key is located within a private and quiet part of the island, but just a short golf cart ride away from shops and restaurants downtown and on Dock Street. Kayak Information: Kayaks are included for your stay at Blue Chair Key. Just a 20-30 minute paddle away from the home is Atsena Otie an incredible deserted National Wildlife Island. Paddle yourself around the backwater through the marshes. BOATER INFORMATION: Boat safely and responsibly. Boating from Blue Chair Key is at your own risk. Cedar Key is shallow water until you reach the channels. Experienced boaters should study navigational charts and tides prior to boating in the area. We have two approaches from Bay access from the dock. The bay can be less than 2 feet deep at low tide. The first bay access involves a bridge to the east that the State of Florida says is 6.5 feet high at mean high tide. In October, we have 5 feet of water at low tide at the dock and a clearance of +/- 6 feet at the bridge at high tide. Both vary greatly and you will need to judge the height on your approach. The second bay access approach is via a tidal waterway to the west with a variety of depths depending on the tide. Check and know your height to the waterline, draft, tides and use your depth finder before navigating. Up to one dog is permitted (20 pound max) with pet fee as follows: Pet fee is $50 per pet per visit, 1 pet maximum.

- wont be the last. Home was well appointed in a great location. Fishing, Kaying and SUP was great.
Hopeful Hurricane Idalia (3 days after departure) didn't have significant effect on people and property.

The Blue Chair property had every convenience that one could want: Lovely kayaks, throughly stocked kitchen conveniences, comfortable beds, and a lovely decorated interior. We thoroughly enjoyed the use of the golf cart as well. I would stay there again if I come to Cedar Key. The only suggestion that I might have is that there would be two extra blankets available for use on chilly nights. Other than that, I have no criticisms. I still would give it a 5 star rating!

It was a great place to recover from surgery. Almost canceled, glad we didn’t. Very laid back and relaxing. Fishing out back, short golf cart drives to town.

This was our first visit to CK as well as to the Gulf Coast. We truly enjoyed the island and the surroundings! But this review is for the property so I will focus on that. Just beautiful. Truly. We stayed a full week - Everything was so well decorated - beautiful blues and creams everywhere. Most of the accessories and utensils etc were also some shade of blue. So cute. The house smelled lovely and had everything we needed. The couch was super comfy and the TV was sufficient. Loved having washer and dryer access also. The backyard and dock were perfect. We had a daily visitor or 2 - a blue heron and a white heron came every day to benefit from my husband’s fishing prizes. Being off season, we did not use the golf cart as we knew there would be ample parking. But how nice to have that option! I wish we had taken advantage of the kayaks but we never made that happen. We would definitely come back and will surely stay here if we are able. Thank you so much for letting us use your lovely home!

This is a very nice cottage! They have provided everything you could possibly need for your stay. We enjoyed the use of the kayaks and the golf cart(which you can rent at a reasonable price). We will definitely be back!

The property is everything that is in the listing. Lots of fish caught from the dock. Kayaks and accessories ready to go for exploring the salt marsh. JR McCormick even checked in to make sure all our comforts were taken care of. Highly recommended.

The Blue Chair rental is a great cottage. Very well furnished and decorated. Well equipped kitchen. The area is “ off the beaten path” and quiet during our visit but convenient to town etc. Very clean. On site for use is a bicycle, 2 kayaks, fishing pole, deck with plentiful chairs, floating dock on water. We did catch some flounder and croakers. Will need to bring some of your toiletries such as shampoo, bath soap. The “no seeum” bugs were very active during our stay. Overall , a very nice Vacstion destination.

We had always been wanting to go to Cedar Key and really enjoyed the quaint town and surroundings. The house was as described and equipped with everything needed including items like a cooler, laundry soap and bug spray and other things you would not normally find in a rental. We enjoyed kayaking and fishing around the islands. Only issue was the noseeums they were brutal early am But being Floridians we are used to that and just paddled off the dock very quickly. Will definitely visit again.

The house is beautiful decorated and has everything you will need. We loved watching the birds and fishing off the dock. The owners have thought of every detail, we have never stayed in a house that was so well appointed. Loved the house and as always loved Cedar Key.

We enjoyed ourselves. The property was everything it was advertised to be. Unfortunately Cedar Key basically shuts down in the “ off season “ Restaurants and stores are either closed or have limited hours. Take that into consideration if you’re interested in booking.

My husband and I needed a place to relax after a hectic few months..Blue Chair was perfect. Fortunately we brought binoculars and had a great view of the osprey nest and other nature. The kayaks are high quality and comfortable, unlike some rentals we've experienced. Thank you!

This is the type of cottage you read about in summer novels. The decor is perfect. The deck is so nice and it's just a quiet little neighborhood. I can't brag on it enough! One of our best experiences in CK to date. We will definitely be back!!

Perfect property to relax and enjoy beautiful surroundings or "old Florida". The rental is just as pictured - clean and comfortable for our family of 4. It was great being able to sit on the dock and watch the tides come in and out and all the native birds. The golf cart available on site was super convenient and our kids loved riding in to town on it. We can't wait to come back.

Blue Chair Cottage was perfect for this retired couple who come to Cedar Key for long walks, bird watching, fishing, and kayaking. We spent as much time as possible outside on the deck, on the dock, or in the kayaks. But, inside was nearly perfect as well. Furniture is top quality (especially the bed), and the kitchen was very well equipped. This cottage will be our top choice for future visits.

A very relaxing vacation staying at Blue Chair Key and exploring Cedar Key. The house was charming and it was a treat to see two dolphins moving past the house boat dock one day during our stay. We took advantage of the two kayaks provided exploring the waterfront near the property. The kitchen was well equipped for cooking, but we ate out most of the time trying the different restaurants. We would enjoy coming back another time.

Nothing but good things to say about our stay at Blue Chair on Cedar Key. It’s VERY well stocked with any and everything you will need. Even little things for your pet if you bring one. The description on VRBO is very accurate!! Great location for kayaking out to an island or back into the inlet areas, fishing off the dock, or taking the golf cart anywhere you want to go on the island...which we highly recommend. The management company(JD and Pam)were very nice and accommodating. JD came by to say hello when we got settled in and was in contact with us several times throughout our stay. We enjoyed the slow paced island time and locals were amazing to talk to in every store or restaurant we went to. My husband actually said as we left the island, “I feel like we are leaving friends”. Though one thing we were glad to leave behind was the “no-see-ums”. 😆 No worries though, there is a container of many sprays and insect burners to help with those. Don’t let them stop you from enjoying this cozy cottage with lovely views!!

We had a great time at the blue chair in Cedar Key despite a tropical storm rolling thru. We are fortunate to live only 1 hour away and able to get home before the storm hit in the middle of our stay. JD, the property manager, stayed in touch with us on the status of the area and let us know when it was safe to come back. All in all, we missed out on 1 day. We had a small isssue with the golf cart and JD and team came by with a replacement in an hour. Great customer service, great little cottage on the water. We caught out share of fish right off the dock, steps away from the cottage. We had a great get away and will definitely be back. We really appreciate JD and the McCormick team on helping may our trip enjoyable despite a tropical storm.
