The room was lovely and spacious and the bed comfortable. Breakfast was great with warm crusty fresh bread, many toppings, and fruits and yoghurt (coffee was horrible though!)
The shower rail is broken so it’s a hand-held shower - awful, and not in keeping with the price point of this guesthouse.
Just a comment too which is not really personal as it applies to several other places we stayed in Iceland, but for this money anywhere else in the world you would get the simple pleasure and convenience of a kettle and small fridge in the room, and likely also a TV. You have to go up to the main building to make a hot drink - ok for us because we had ok weather but in some Iceland weather this would be miserable!

Though we were only visiting for one night, the host welcomed us as if we were family. Place is immaculately kept, breakfast is top quality and the experience the best we have had in Iceland

The location is handy, close to Hofn for supermarkets and restaurants. The host was friendly and welcoming despite me arriving late which I really appreciated. The breakfast in the morning was brilliant and very comprehensive. The view from the bedroom window was lovely, especially waking up in the morning, very peaceful area.
The room I had was just off the main eating and reception area so very noisy with the radio playing loudly, mixed with guests talking! In the morning as soon as breakfast was ready at 7:30 and guests arrived to eat I was woken up! There is a door between this area and the bedrooms which I think should be kept closed to keep noise to a minimum, especially early in the morning! The bathroom that is shared downstairs with three bedrooms is tiny with no hand towels to dry your hands. The sink in the bedroom was so tiny it was hard to have a proper wash in the morning. The bedroom was too warm with no control over the heating (I guess the heating is in the floor) so I had to open the window all night which let in a cold draft! Overall the room smelt musty and damp, would not recommend it!
