The sight of the sea was obviously amazing and the best feature of the apartment! The issues with the leaking boiler and not being able to turn the key in the front-door lock were resolved quickly. The boiler had leaked all over the toaster, but the host said he would buy a new toaster before the next guests.
The soundproofing in the apartment was really poor. There was a lot of noise disturbances from the neighbours daily and nightly, including voices, footsteps, bathroom noises, and furniture dragging. There was one whole day of music, partying, and shouting, and another whole day of some apartment construction work happening. It was not easy to get a good night’s sleep or relax during the day. The apartment was really cold during the first several days of my stay until the weather improved. The two portable heaters provided were not too effective. The shower would run out of hot water too quickly. The host adjusted the settings on the boiler, though reluctantly, and there was a slight improvement in how long the hot water lasted, but I still had to be quite quick in the shower. The shower pressure was also a bit low. Cleanliness could definitely be improved—for example, the sheets on the main bed were a bit yellowed, so I had to sleep on the smaller bed, and there was a lot of dirt and grease on the kitchen wall and counters. The WC was not cleaned well. Most of the towels provided had stains on them, and also the curtains. There was a strong unpleasant smell in the apartment (a mix of damp with something else I couldn’t quite identify) and no amount of air-freshening products could get rid of it. The washing machine, which I had to clean before using, left an unpleasant smell on my clothes too. I also noticed more than a few ants in one of the bedrooms that were trying to get into my suitcase.
