We travelled to Shrewsbury for the folk festival with the intention of walking to the festival site each day. We did walk in on the Friday evening but, as the weather deteriorated, we drove in on the Saturday and Sunday. The location of the property is ideal for this event.
The property itself is lovely. Beautifully presented with a delightful little garden and 3 parking spaces. The kitchen looked to be well equipped but we only had breakfast during our stay.
The person staying in the single room found the mattress to be very uncomfortable. The boiler is in one of the double rooms and, although low level, the noise did make it difficult to drop off to sleep.

The location was excellent. About a 15 minute walk into the town centre, and very close to some lovely pubs and restaurants. I used to live in Shrewsbury so I knew the property was in a great location.
It was very clean and the kitchen and living area was excellent. The house is very well equipped and the little touches of tea, coffee, sugar and chilled water were greatly appreciated.
The house manual was excellent with all instructions in one place.
Entering the property was easy and there was good communication.
We booked this accommodation because it had 3 bedrooms. We didn't know until after it was booked that the single room was only suitable for a child. The booking being made was clearly for 3 adults. There were other properties available that had 2 bedrooms and a sofa bed, but because we are 3 ladies in our 60s we wanted the comfort of 3 separate bedrooms.
The chair bed in the sitting room was very low to the floor and very uncomfortable. There was no headboard, no bedside lamp and the main light didn't work. The standing lamp was the other side of the room so it wasn't easy getting into bed. This bed was in the sitting room which had a small round window that had no blind. As this is a downstairs room at the front of the house it lacked privacy and it had a street lamp shining at night and early sunshine so it wasn't at all easy to sleep. If this is supposed to be used as a bedroom there needs to be somewhere to store clothes and other items. It made this sitting room unusable by the other guests.
The bathroom was beautiful but unfortunately when the floor got wet after a shower it became very slippery.
There was no bannister rail and the stairs are quite steep. Maybe because we are not as young as some we found this a bit unnerving. Just a wall mounted bannister rail would make a massive difference to confidence going up and down.
I really wanted to give this property a score of 10 because the good bits are great, but unfortunately the chair bed was a real disappointment. I think this should be made clear on the property description. I thought we would be OK as it was just for 2 nights but it really wasn't a comfortable sleep.
If I was travelling to Shrewsbury again and only needed 2 bedrooms I would consider staying here again.

Good location. Very spacious and parking. Spotlessly clean. Well equipped kitchen.
Single bed was 5ft 2 which we didn't know before booking. We are three adults all over 5ft 2 so one of us had to cramp up in the single bed. I just wish we had known that before booking as we would have gone to another place. I accept it is what it is and knew one was a single but wish we had known about the bed being so short. The front door sticks badly and needs some attention we are older ladies and struggled to apply enough welly to open it.
