Great place if you are a bird photographer or bird lover. Sunil is the guy and has experience of 35 years as a bird watching guide. He and his wife took care of me for 3 days and we watched the many endemic birds during the trip. He know all the places around the area and we see many rare animals as well. His wife cooks authentic food and you can have an experience of living with the small local family. I recommend everyone, its worth it.

Lovely location. Very helpful owner even though English was not spoken. He was very helpful and made sure we were happy. He was a great guide and really went out of his way to find the animals I wanted to photograph. He was VERY patient with me as I take macro images and was glad he gave me the time to do this. He was very kind and understanding when my husband was very poorly and couldn't come on the walk with us. It was a great location to drive into the NP car park and just look for wildlife outside the park, in the car park. Loved finding the mini ant praying mantis.
There was nothing we didn't like but a fridge would have been helpful.

Sunil is an extraordinary, determined, passionate, experienced, and knowledgeable guide. We saw a substantial number of the rarest birds in Sri Lanka. A retired park guide, Sunil’s expertise and energy are beyond compare. Family-style meals were also delicious. This is a modest homestay ideal for birders on a budget.
Focus is on birds, less so on other animals/plants.
